Media is pretty much the place to do this, apart from this thread to introduce yourself:

This would cause a lot of spam of people who probably don't even care, saying "Welcome" or "Goodbye", and it would get pedantic after a while.

I'd do it in media. I feel like that place doesn't need anymore places. I mean, not a lot of people leave cuubecraft nor joins (active member). It doesn't need it's own section -1
