Sounds like the people complaining about punch bows are just bad at comabting them. You can get shields. Also its about using the playing field correctly and gaining higher ground. Melee fighting isnt everything in minecraft. Its the complete package, use the tools at hand to win, don't play to how somebody elsewants you to play, thats just silly.

Exhibit D: People with punch bows; You are forced to stay near cover, don't do it and you die, or will never get to them since they can no-skill bow lock you(because punch bow). Also edges and punch bows, if someone with a punch bow runs around a corner you cannot follow them, it's a death sentence if you do so you are forced to give your opponent with a punch bow a break which in they could heal. I also don't believe there's any strategy to beat this alone since it's extremely hard to dodge an arrow near point blank if you have to move in a specific way, and with a shield they could just spam you off when you try it since there will be a second's pause where you can't attack. Good thing is that they can run out of arrows.(unless they have an inventory full)

Bows are there to help create a strategy. Example: Why would you just run from a 3v1 when you have a punch bow and can take them out one at a time with the right timing?
Punch bows can be bad in camping, I've experienced the most stubborn form of camping. But when someone's camping with a punch bow, you use one too!
If it were removed to "balance" it, power bows would be dominant and it would be 20x harder to bridge to a camper since you need to take lots of time regenning & checking on your armor durability.

It isnt the first, second or "hundredth" post asking to remove punch bows... I think they will not remove it, once it is an important item to so many strategies, not only to defense. It would be very easy to win any game if there is no punch bows. You just get mid first with your team and get full iron, then raid other teams with bridges a lil high. Maps like that one with End team (its a solo map, forgot its name) would be too boring. Melee knockback isnt that useful in 1.9 PvP. Especially in OP mode.
Also, bow spamming will not stop with the removal of punch bows. Spamming power bows can be almost as bad as spamming punch bows.
I think I said it in several other posts like this one, but again: melee is not the only skill you need to win an eggwars game. You need to play smart and have different strategies to each map, game mode and even position of your island. "Playing smart" includes taking advantage and being careful with the bows and pickaxes.
You dont have to ask to remove something just because you dont like it... Work arround it.
I hate diamond armor, especially in 1.9PvP because it takes too long to break it, and teams that camp all game and farm enough to get 2 full diamond sets are way too annoying to deal with. So I work arround it with buying only full iron sets and spending my diamonds on enderpearls and my gold on tnt :D When they are too annoyed with me escaping and decide to come after me, I use punch bows to make them fly away.

I'm sorry mate but punch bows will never be removed, bow spamming is a good strategy that I use, I win a lot of my game using just a bow, if you don't want punch bow in your game just play hardcore, I know that you are emerald rank so you can vote for hardcore no problem
Agreed. I think the punch bow is terribly over-rated, I can knock people off a bridge just fine with a power bow AND do tons of damage. The punch bow only increases camping and bow spam and the only way to combat this is to REMOVE it. FOR GOOD.
While bow-spamming is annoying, there's no denying the backlash Cube will get if they take out the Punch I bow. Also, bow-spamming is a strategy, especially for people who are new to the game, or are not as good with melee PVP.

Ironically this also goes against the new players since they could just stick to bow spamming instead of learning and harm themselves in that way. It's like riding a bike but never taking off the training wheels,if you did take them off even though you might get a couple of scars and bruises you will still improve.
He has also suggested reworking op I believe(which I am almost certain I agreed with) in a way that you don't need armor breaking, but people love to bring this bad excuse up "it's op for a reason", it should be "op within reason".
It may just anger people for a week, but it definitely won't do much if they also reworked op to not need punchbows.

The punch bow can be good in some scenarios and bad in some scenarios, the punch bow is 50/50 for me when you shoot somebody the take a lot of knockback and a little damage. Otherwise using the power now when it shoots somebody the person takes less knockback and more damage. Personality I think it's good and I should stay so aswell

The punch bow is already removed in Skywars and now it's gone I don't miss it at all so why not remove it in Eggwars too

The punch bow should stay. Using the punch bow is a good way to distantiate your opponents when you're fighting a whole team on your own for example. I do think that the price should change. For only 12 diamonds the punch bow is just pretty cheap for a weapon that can shoot you off your island within a couple of arrows.

Um.. I do literally everything I can to stop punch bows. I rush the team next to me as fast as I possibly can, winning the 1 vs 4, and continuing to the next team usually winning the 1 vs 4 again. This all happens in four minutes or less. Still with leather armour and a wood sword, I continue to purple and typically break the egg no problem. Since purple is usually more geared, I run on the bridge and kill them. I do the same with green and red, and if they have punch bows I build a 3 x 3 wall and place a piece of TnT behind it. Also, to anyone that says anything about OP this is a normal mode suggestion.
Lets be honest here, nobody gets shields until the very end for pretty good reasons. 1.It cost, a lot and if it's the middle of the game you are investing in a shield instead of armour or a bow or your gens. 2.It's durability is horrid, making your investment even less worthwhile if you did not buy the shield after you bought all your gear.
You can't exactly play the field once your opponent has seen you if they have a punch bow, because whatever position you had before you are going to get shot off, also high ground against a punch bow is a bad idea, since you will be knocked back further if you get hit.(which is why you should avoid jumping against this)
But it is the most prominent skill you need.
Exhibit A : Campers; You have to comform to what they are doing and play how they want you to play, otherwise you are not getting there. Exhibit B :eople that bow camp your island; You need to play how they want you to, because you can't go out of your island and you can't build out and killing them is ussually not an option.

oh my lord... Why do people think melee is the most dominant skill to win? In games like eggwars or skywars using a proper strategy is the best way to kill someone.
