I am new to the server, can someone tell me how to get gold and diamonds? I mean, do I need to go to the middle and get them or is there an easier way(not counting stealing someone else's, since I would need gold to get weapons to rekt others first)

To get diamonds, you will always need to build to the middle to get some from an active generator.
On most maps, there is a working gold generator on your island but on some maps you'd need to go to the middle to get gold.

Eggwars works like this:
You start on your island, with at least an iron gen. Depending on the map, you might have a gold gen already active.
To start a broken gen, you will need to collect recourses of the same type from either: Mid or another base that you take over
To upgrade a gen, rightclick it and see what it requires.
Your egg is a valuable "effigy" to you, When you have it, you can respawn.
Players of another team can instantly break them with a single click, so you better protect it with sandstone! Later on you could replace the sandstone with obsidian,
Note: in most maps you need 5 obsidian to cover the egg.

Level 2- 20 iron to level up, 1 per 0.75 seconds
Level 3- 20 gold to level up, 1 per 0.50 seconds
Level 4-50 gold to level up, 1 per 0.25 seconds
Gold:
Level 1- 5 gold to start, 1 per 5 seconds
Level 2- 10 gold to level up, 1 per 3.5 seconds
Level 3- 10 diamonds to level up, 1 per 2 seconds
Level 4, 25 diamonds to level up, 1 per second
Diamond:
Level 1- 5 diamonds to start, 1 per 10 seconds
Level 2- 10 diamonds to level up, 1 per 5 seconds
Level 3- 25 diamonds to level up, 1 per 2.5 seconds.

You should try out team mode. Your teammates can go to mid instead of you and will bring back diamonds ton upgrade gens.

On some maps like Space, there are gens in other places (cough cough the Sun and Earth) instead of going to the middle. These diamond generators are level 1 though.
Not exactly because i often have teams that dont think so i play sentry, i juststay at the base guarding the island to make sure if someone tries to get my egg, they either will be unsuccessful or if they are they have a really hard time trying
So, on every island there is at least one gold, iron, and diamond generator, represented by their corresponding block. The iron is usually always active, the gold is usually active but sometimes not, and the diamond is usually never active. In order to activate nom active gold/diamond gens, you need to go to mid, where there is at least one generator of each token active. You collect 5 of the desired item to bring back to your island where you activate the generator. From there you upgrade the gen by collecting tokens from the gen.
