@Minikloon

The plugin would add :
/warn (player) (reason)

available to : everyone.
What it does :
It logs the 4 last comments of the reported player (or adds the extra comments since the last warning to the previous ones to avoid repetition in the case of recurring warnings) and the player that is reporting at that time for the infringing player server side in a report thread for the mods to deal with.

The server can keep track of the warnings for each player, 3 warnings for the same reason in the same day and the player gets automatically reported with proof.
There are 2-3 warnings per report (3 to check if the player continues after the 2nd warning, if done automatically 2 warnings are fine)

This is usefull because :

- Not everyone knows how to report.

- Screenshots take up a bit of space both on the server and on the reporters computers.

- The screenshots need to be relyable needing to be clear and uncropped. The plugin itself is relyable.

- It is possible to detect the reasons for the warnings (language, swearing, advertising and spam..)

- The plugin can create clean reports without screenshots but with extracted text from the server logs that is 100% reliable.

- If a player advertises in multiple lobbies the warnings can be counted accordingly even if it isn't the same player reporting, the reports are done in the same time span/ same reason.

What could eventually be added to this plugin :
- The reports could be sent to a specific area on the website.

- after a successfull report the reporter gets a message "successfully reported (name) for (reason) .

- Maybe : /Warn (player) (optional warning number) (reason)

Any possible issues ? :
I can think of :
- Multiple people reporting the same offence (10 people in a lobby reporting 1 advertiser)
Fix-> This can be fixed by taking the comments of that person at the time of the reports, the amount of reports can only add weight to the importance of the report.

- Spam of the command :
Fix-> after a successfull report a command cooldown could be added to avoid spamming.

Fix-> If the "offending" player hasn't talked since the last warning, the newer warning is canceled.

Fix-> Players abusing this command may be blacklisted from using the command and would need to report the old fashioned way.

Example of the plugin working:

[Offender] : spam1
[Offender] : spam2
[Offender] : spam3

/warn offender spam
Console to Offender: [Offender] please do not spam 1/3
Console to Reporter: Player has been warned for spam 1/3

[Offender] : spam4
[Offender] : spam5

/warn offender spam
Console to Offender: [Offender] please do not spam 2/3
Console to Reporter: Player has been warned for spam 2/3

[Offender] : spam6

/warn offender spam
Console to Offender: [Offender] please do not spam 3/3
Console to reporter: report successfull ! Your report will be taken into consideration soon™

I want to be clear on one thing, the reports are based on the time of the reports, so 200 people reporting one person at one time will give one report where the chat log of the reporter(s) and offender is saved in a specific time span (eg: 30 seconds behind each warning.)

Some time ago there was a report plugin. They removed it but I think this is a good idea because I hate people making others gameplay experience bad. +1

Yes they removed it, but what @Lezappen tries to suggest is the /warn to warn people for insulting people or advertising. The /report command is something different. That command is for reporting people that abusing bug and/or hacking. But they removed that because many people abused it and it was in my opinion useless. Because you need video evidence.

Anyways. This is a good idea. Maybe if you do /warn, it only gives the one you warn and you a message. Or else the chat is spammed with warning messages.

Or:
[WARNING 1]: Watch your language please.
[WARNING 2]: Watch your language please.
[WARNING 3]: Watch your language please.
Yes but only visible by the offender.
Remember that the plugin just creates the reports from the players warnings and feeds it to the mods, we can't control how players are to use this command so the reports might not be relyable so the fact that the player has been reported shouldn't be publically shown, think of the attention seekers...

Because people abused it with fake reports. Then staffs need to check it but they were so busy with looking at this players and waste their time because they aren't hacking. Then the decided to remove it and then they have more time to play, checking forums, etc.

Sounds a little similar to /report except that the server will automatically send the conversation:
- The plugin can create clean reports without screenshots but with extracted text from the server logs that is 100% reliable.

My question is that, does it save the chat log at the period of time when someone /warns them then store it til a third person /warns them?
Because if it doesn't then they could ask 3 players to use /warn them at the same time which would result into 1 proper warning but the system will take it as 3 then reports them. Kind of unfair for the victim.

Brings me to another point, if the system does store up all those images, wouldn't it take up too much space which may increase chances of server lag/delay or possible crashes?
What if someone get their troll friends to randomly /warn someone, it's going to be hard for staff to check and if someone doesn't know how to use it properly, just spams that command on someone for nothing. It would take up a lot of space so I'm unsure.

No it will save the chat log 30 secs before each warning. Remember if a warning has been sent a new one can't take place against that player until he talks again. After 3 warnings as long as there are warnings coming in for the player in the time span of lets say 5 minutes, his comments and the ones of the reporters shall be saved.

" 200 people reporting one person at one time will give one report where the chat log of the reporter(s) and offender is saved in a specific time span (eg: 30 seconds behind each warning.)"
so at each warning the chat (only the comments of the offender and reporter) dating back 30 seconds would be logged into the report, if the offender talks after the warning then a new warning can take place. (adding to the same report the offender's and reporters comments)
basically once one warning is sent nobody can make a new warning for that player unless he talks again.
Brings me to another point, if the system does store up all those images, wouldn't it take up too much space which may increase chances of server lag/delay or possible crashes?

The plugin won't store or take images but will extract text from the logs, as we have it now, the server on which the website is on is having to save all the screenshots uploaded by the users in their reports, this would lighten that load a little, and relieve the users of having to take screenshots. Text takes up a lot less space.

Suggested many times before, I still don't like it. It would get abused, and people would use it for trolling purposes. Instead of making it easier for staff members it will make it harder. If this will be implemented, the staff members (you) would have to find all the people abusing it and ban them from the system. Some of them would probably make real reports every once in a while, and banning them from the system would decrease the amount of reports. With this, it would be harder to get screenshots of the surrounding too. This might seem useless, but if there's a camper that needs to be warned, how would that work with this?

I already covered that :
People who abuse this will be permanently banned from using the command (their name would be in a blacklist in the plugin folder) and would then have to upload their reports traditionally with the screenshot and upload to the forums.
the reports cannot really be abused, as you cannot "spam" reports.
"If the "offending" player hasn't talked since the last warning, the newer warning is canceled."
This isn't really for campers either since campers require video evidence, this plugin is to help with chat regulation

Report Layout:
Offender : (name) Options : Mute/Ban etc...
Offence : (reason in-putted by the reporter)
Reported by : (name) Options : Blacklist/Mute/Ban etc...
Chat log :
( 02:33:30) : Offenders comment from 30 secs before the first warning.
( 02:33:37) : Offenders comment from 23 secs before the first warning.
( 02:33:40) : Reporters comment from 20 secs before the first warning.
( 02:33:48) : Offenders comment from 12 secs before the first warning.
( 02:34:00) : Warning 1 sent by : reporter
Warning 2 failed (sent by : list of other reporters) because no more new messages from offender (No new messages from that player means that no new warnings against him can be placed)
( 02:34:01) : Offender : more spam
Warning 2 failed (sent by : list of other reporters) please wait 9 seconds before using this command again (10 second command cooldown for warnings against the offender)
( 02:34:19) : Reporter : comment
( 02:34:24) : Warning 2 sent by : (players reporting the player in the last 30 secs)
( 02:34:35) : Offender : more spam
( 02:34:40) : Warning 3 sent by : (players reporting the player in the last 30 secs)

Yes, but it will still mean a lot more work for you staff members. It's like the /report command back in the days, (from what I heard) 4/5 reports were false. Banning people abusing the system would be a really hard work. I'm not talking about us "normal" players now, but you staff members.

It doesn't create more work, than what we currently do in the report section.
Plus it allows to save the amount of warnings a player has had throughout the day.
(lobby to lobby advertisers/phishing)

I think that Trolls won't happen that often as it would be tedious to successfully troll someone with this plugin.

The suggestion itself is nice, but there will be a lot of problems with troll people and fake reports, which means more work for staff members to ban them + the hackers/rules-breakers.

Since players can be banned via the website, for the mods next to each report there can be a little blacklist option to blacklist the reporter from using the command.
