I don't think I like that idea. Wherever there are prizes people are greedy. Not to be mean or anything but if that happens, it's going to be like ****plex. Each time you kill someone legit they'll probally be saying "H@ks or You Hack.." Something close to that. Also, legit hackers are going to be everywhere.

+1 Maybe make a tournament where some players show up with specific time date's and a small amount of staff

This poses some issues. What if someone from my time zone (GMT-5) and someone like @zRinne get into a match (Who's time zone is GMT+7 or +8, I don't know to be honest). They are 11/12 hours apart and the match wouldn't be exactly easy to organize.

The way to fix this is by having a tournament in both timezones. (I still see it as a problem so i have to agree with @BuildBuild25 )
But the problem mostly lies in the prize. See if you get more points per every tournament, you could easily pair up with someone and farm them.
If you put in matchmaking, you could always deal with someone or you get trolls.
I guess there are a few issues here..
