Does anyone know where I can download a Forge modding API for any Minecraft version? I find it very ironic that it isn't on the official Forge website.

Also, when modding, what will happen if I change the Minecraft source code? Like maybe, I want to change the creeper's AI or lower the hardness of obsidian.

This website choose the MDK or Src or something
Next wait 5 seconds and you will see at the right hand corner a Skip button click there and your download is complete
Keep in mind that the 1.8 and above files are a bit tricky to set up... And setting up forge is very difficult also make sure to have the Java JDK installed and if you have Windows 10 I hope not please no.... To have a version bellow Java 8....
Any more questions?

Okay so that's for the installation only you cant really touch the Minecraft source codes true the forge API for that you will need Minecraft Coderpack keep in mind that Minecraft Coderpack just goes up to Minecraft 1.8.8 or something you cant change the code for 1.9 or above.... I don't know how to install Minecraft Coderpack but there are some tutorials on YouTube... (their crappy ones...:D)

This is the official page: http://files.minecraftforge.net/
There, you can find the documentation and the files. ;)

I thought that was the installer, not the API.

Nope. Your remark about it not being on the official website is actually false, seeing as it's all there. You just have to select the appropriate download.
