Hey everyone! This is my first map and all critiques are welcomed!

pOR9jlS.png

This is a two teamed eggwars map. The map can hold 20-24 people, which is 10-12 people on each side.

On each side, there are:
4, level 1, Iron generators,
1, level 1, Gold generator,
1, broken, Gold generator,
2, broken, Diamond generators.

In the center, there are:
8, level 2, Iron generators,
4, level 2, Gold generators,
4, level 1, Diamond generators.

Players will NOT be able to build outside the designated playing field determined by the ground (players would not be able to build around the castle walls in order to get across).
Players will NOT be able to build within the castle walls on each respective side (to prevent griefing).

Below is some explanations as why I chose certain elements to be incorporated from the map.
I wanted a more difficult 2 team eggwars.
  • So, there is a 50 block gap between the team's side and the center. This would make bridging harder to accomplish and would require more strategy to attack each side.
  • Each side also has 2 broken diamond generators, so that if one team takes control of the center, the opposing team has a chance to recover. The castle wall and the tops of the houses can be accessed via ladders, to give a vertical advantage to the team on their respective side.
  • The bottom of each teams' islands is covered in wheat. This would allow for blocks to not be placed on ground level so that players will not be able to pillar straight up.
  • The center has two giant holes that lead to the abyss in order to allow teams to push each other off if not careful enough, however the bridge is there to allow easier access to the center castle.
  • The second floor of the center castle has a window that is 2 blocks tall, allowing players to escape from the top floor.
  • The eggs are also in plain sight, so that no individual has to get out of the way in order to protect the egg.

Tagging builders is allowed if you ask me. Also please give your opinion about the map instead of just complaining.

Back on topic..
I like the map! It looks really cool to me.
However I do think the castle on each island is a bit too simple.
Try to mix it up with some different blocks or something like that.

Crazy Land (I GOT THE COOKIES :D)
I'd say it's too plain in most aspects. The castles-like structures are just walls with no depth or color variation. The ground is pretty much just wheat. Athough it may seem a little unimportant, try and add more to the floor, mix up the blocks and colors. Overall it's a pretty good start, but has a lot of room for improvemnts, I hope to see updates and changes to the map that make it even better! :)

The insides are pretty well done but it's the outside I'm unsure about.
The side of the castles looks cut off and not natural to me, I guess that's the only thing bothering me.
Overall I feel that the outside is just too squarish, Minecraft is a box game so maybe something that isn't too square like would be more appealing.
I'm not a builder but I can see the amount of effort put into this build, it's something I don't think I can do so that's pretty amazing.
I hope my opinion can help improve your builds.

Well to begin with I like the theme. But it can be better. First of all about the islands it self. You can see an island like an organic that means that you can use geometric shapes (the square shape of the island). Of course you can make it something different from the other maps but keep this in mind. My second thing is about the top of the island. The castle is really simple in detail. The shape can work when you make some little extra things at the sides of it. And that brings me to the field where de castle is on. It is so empty I mean it is not bad for the gameplay because grass or other things can be really anoying. But some extra layers in on the top and maybe some spikes or something can make it look better in a minute. Or you make some little markets to fill the empty spaces on it. So anyways I like the theme and the concept but it needs to be improved.
