Well, they do have effect on "gameplay" (in lobbies you can have accessories that make you stand out from the other players) But if you see "gameplay effect" as advantages in minigames and games, then no.
Basically when you get something from a Cubelet, there might be another requirement to use that accessory, which is usually your level.
Guess what increases level? Experience.
So yeah,
USELESS is not really appropriate, even though Experience doesn't really add that much to your game.

You can buy "

Points.
You can earn them by
playing,
winning, doing
challenges and getting
Achievements.
