Based on my past post that did not go well... This post is just an updated follow-up because it became noticeable to me.
Okay, let's just simplify why using too much particles can hurt FPS really bad and why it should use 3D models instead. And I will try to answer all of the questions to make things less confusing.
Overuse of particles in Minecraft is bad and it makes the gameplay too laggy.
Here is an example in the new game called Disasters, and it has the black hole event that spawns a bunch of particles that lowered my FPS to 30.
"Well, maybe you have a very bad computer lol"
I have a GTX 1050 Ti, Intel i7 7th Gen overclocked CPU, 16 GB 3200Mhz of RAM, and a SSD. My PC is decent and can reach up to ~400 FPS in normal Minecraft.
"erm actually, 3D models are heavier on performance than 2D"
We have a little thing called an overhead. Where even things are simple, they are slow to do stuff in some areas. Particles might be lightweight for a simple effect, but too much of it can slow down devices.
"3D models are so complicated than particles."
Yes, for just simple effects. No, if its for complex effects. It depends on how both was used.
Cubecraft uses Java to make Minecraft servers with plugins, and Java is a fairly hard programming language to code in my experience with it (I am not a Cubecraft Developer BTW). In complex effects like the Black Hole effect, the code must do some mathematics and spawn particles like around the circle and it is spawning continuously. So both the server and the players are slowing down in performance but at the same time the developers are doing the hard work.
3D models are just... Well, it's just multiple cubes... It depends on the art and how it's properly made.
"So do you mean that we should replace all effects that uses particles with 3D Models?"
100% NO. What I am trying to say is, complex effects should use 3D Models, so it won't hurt FPS such as the Black Holes in Disaster. Simple effects such as Arrow Trails, cosmetics, and other effects should keep using particles.
"im professionally dumb and i cant understand this lol"
Let me translate this in ooga booga languange.
Particles, ok. Too many? Very bad!
3D, good. Use 3D, if effect very big...
"I'm not convinced lol"
I have examples of particle effects and 3D effects with the same complexity to each other. And you can check the FPS difference between them. (No VSYNC enabled)

Anyways, I am speaking in experience in Cubecraft Bedrock, and I haven't considered if Java Players are experiencing the same thing. But if they do, it should also be fixed.
This post is just a more understandable version of the similar post I've made in few months ago. And I HOPE ALL OF YOU ARE CONVINCED and im slowly crashing out if this isn't fixed right now omggg
