You just left click on this armor stand in the EggWars lobby. You can also right-click if you want to pick a certain map to play on. :)

Oh, I didn't know that was a feature for donators only. Kinda makes more sense that way, actually.
Sorry, but you can either play on 1.9 or get a rank from the store.

Non-donators can also do left click on the armor stand, you will not be allowed to choose a map, but at least you can play.

This is currently only for donators. But they will working on it for all ranks. Don't worry, it's just day 2 of the update. ;)

The ones saying that you can join 1.8 mode as a default player are correct. You just don't have the ability to choose the map you want. If you are unable to left click on the npc then please report it as a bug with as much context/info as possible. :)

The only reason people request for 1.8 is because of hacking. If you're an addvicit of having 1.8 instead of 1.9 it's because you're cheating. The only difference in PvP between the two versions is sword spamming, you can't use aura if your weapon needs to charge. It's actually pathetic I'm a 1.9 lover to death you rarely see people cheating anymore.
