Aye peeps,

After looking through some recent forums post, I've noticed that the BlockWars balancing system is getting some hate, especially when people are being moved to another team. So my suggestion is that it shouldn't be possible to be moved to another team, if you have captured at least one flag. This to prevent people from losing a game because of their own captures.

What do you guys think? Feel free to share your opinion,

Friendly Greetz,
Johny

PS: I don't know if this has already been suggested before.

I like the idea a lot, seeing as how it's unfair to be balanced when you clearly have contributed something to your team. However there are a few issues with this:

1) What happens in the (unlikely) event that everyone on the team has a capture?

2) What's to say there aren't other ways of making meaningful contributions to your team? Capturing the flag isn't the only way to can have a positive impact on the game, some classes are more designed to PvP and so for them, getting a lot of kills instead of capturing the flag is beneficial. They may even protect the flag carrier or kill the enemy flag carrier - clearly having an impact on the game, but currently there's no way to track such contributions.

Uh.. If everyone on the team has a capture, their either hackers or the other team is terrible 95% of the time.

1) If this ever happens (I doubt so), I think the best way to solve this is to just pick a random player to be moved to another team (the same way it is rn, I know). I'll explain why. For my suggestion, only those who did not capture a flag can be moved to the other team. These players all have 0 captures, which makes them 'equal' to each other. So when everybody in a team has 1 capture, they are all 'equal' again as they all captured the same amount of flags. So in this unlikely case, we can still use the same system.

2) I have never said there aren't other meaningful contributions to a team. Ofc there are :). But I personally think that you should get rid of this problem step by step, and this could be a good start in my opinion. Btw, capturing a flag is usually a bit harder than protecting the flag or eventually killing the flag carrier himself/herself. These things usually require less skills than capturing the enemy flag and making your way back to your own flag while trying to not getting killed. Thats why I personally think that these people deserve sort of an 'advantage' when balancing teams.
