Coding Best free editing software?

hey, i recently got a recording software, but now im missing a good free editing software, and no iMovie, Movie maker and Lightworks, is not the programs i want to use. I need this for a school project soon, so please comment soon if you know one! Ty for the attention :D

1. Sony vegas is not free
2. You can get photo shop free, but its for pictures, not video

There are very few free editing software's that are actually good, depends what you want to do.
Sony Vegas is the best for paid.
(Unless you want to do fancy advanced affects, then you should go with After Effects.)
Lightworks is the best for free software.

I'm sorry, but you can't really get good software without spending quite a bit of cash unfortunately...

What subject is this for? I doubt they expect fancy editing, if they did they probably would've recommended programs for you to get.

I use iMovie or windows movie maker for my editing and the teacher was always fine with it, I mean it does a good enough job xP

Windows Movie Maker then use the 30 day trial of Camtasia Studio

Ty everyone, but since im doing a "not anvanced" project, i found Camtasia, very usefull

Just a question, how good is Lightworks exactly?

It has a lot of good features, but 1. I somehow cant find out how to undo something (ctrl+z Does not work) 2. Its hard to drag around with the files, maybe im doing it wrong? 3. and i just overall find too many bugs/mistakes ect..
