Please Improve the Anti-Cheat - The Player

Dear CubeCraft Team,

I'm writing this as a long-time player and passionate member of the CubeCraft community to address a growing concern that's seriously impacting the enjoyment and fairness of the server: the increasing number of hackers due to weak anti-cheat protection.

Over the past few weeks, I've noticed along with many other players a rise in cheaters using hacks in competitive games like SkyWars, Egg Wars, and PvP. Common hacks being used include:

KillAura

Anti-knockhack
Reach

Fly hacks

...and more.

Unfortunately, the current anti-cheat system
Unfortunately, the current anti-cheat system either doesn't detect these hacks fast enough or sometimes fails to detect them at all. As a result, we've seen:

A noticeable drop in player trust.

Loyal players quitting the server.

Negative feedback and a decline in the server's reputation.

I fully understand t anti-cheat is no eas, ating a flawless However,
A noticeable drop in player trust.

I fully understand that creating a flawless anti-cheat is no easy task. However, CubeCraft is one of the largest Minecraft servers in the world and with that comes the responsibility to ensure a fair and competitive environment for everyone.

I kindly urge the team to reconsider investing time and resources into upgrading the anti-cheat system, whether that's by:

Developing a stronger in-house solution.

Integrating advanced third-party systems like AAC, Vulcan, or Grim AntiCheat.

Increasing the presence of live moderation in competitive matches.

I'll preface this by saying that this is a complete assumption based on my experience in the server (in the many years since Sentinel got introduced).

I believe it kinda goes in waves. There will be periods with very few or even next to no hackers then suddenly you see them everywhere for a while. I guess new/updated hacks getting through the anticheat, which takes a bit of time for the developers to patch out.

I can't remember ever having to deal with a long period of constant hackers on Cube. I'm quite happy with it and I've played for many (many) hours on the server.

I really appreciate you sharing your take — it’s always helpful to hear from players who’ve been around for a long time and have seen how things have evolved. I think you're absolutely right about the “waves” of hackers. It does seem like there are stretches where things are pretty clean, followed by sudden bursts where cheaters pop up more frequently.

From what I’ve observed, it usually lines up with new or updated cheats slipping through the cracks before the devs catch on and push out fixes. It’s kind of like a constant cat-and-mouse game between cheat developers and anticheat systems like Sentinel.

That said, I also agree that CubeCraft has done a great job overall when it comes to handling cheaters. Even during the rough patches, it rarely ever feels like it gets totally out of control or ruins the experience for long. I’ve had a ton of fun on the server over the years, and part of that is definitely thanks to how responsive and active the dev team is when it comes to maintaining fairness.

So yeah, while no system is perfect, I’d say Cube is definitely one of the better-managed servers in that regard.
..
I notice that many cheaters use such hitbox . Reach . In the game Battle Arena - Free for all Many players complain about the poor protection against cheaters who use subtle modifications, which is completely against CubeCraft's rules.

In this time you can just report them in the game by running the command /sr or here in the forums:

"I already tried using /sr in-game, but it doesn't seem to work as intended — either there's no response or no action is taken. If the reporting system isn’t reliable in real-time, it defeats the purpose of having it. Players deserve a functional, responsive way to report issues when they happen, not just a forum post afterward that may get ignored or delayed. Please escalate this to the team responsible for moderation tools — we need systems that actually protect the community, not just tell us to report and hope for the best."

As far as I know the ingame /sr feature only works if there is a team member online and actively handling the reports. I don't think that there are enough team members to handle every ingame report - This responsive way to report issues is probably not possible at the moment.
The Reports on the Forums usually work for me, they are reviewed in usually about 1-3 days.

But how you want them to dealing with more then 10k players or more in one time just with 15 team members this is impossible for that they just need to do a strong anti-cheat system

Thank you for the clarification! I now understand why the /sr feature isn’t always effective. It’s good to know that forum reports are still being reviewed regularly, even if it takes 1–3 days. I really appreciate the effort the team puts in, especially with limited resources. As the team grows, real-time solutions might become more feasible.

Managing over 10,000 players with only 15 team members isn’t just difficult — it’s unrealistic. That’s exactly why a powerful and intelligent anti-cheat system isn’t optional, it’s essential. No matter how skilled or dedicated the team is, they simply can't keep up without proper automated support. The current approach isn’t scalable, and relying on human moderation alone leaves too many gaps. If the goal is a fair and competitive environment, then a strong anti-cheat should be the top priority, not an afterthought.

I think that CubeCraft is already working on constantly approving the Sentinel Anticheat System but that always takes a while. If there is a new way of cheating that does not get detected by the anticheat they need to adapt to that. I believe that they already try to do their best regarding that.

btw, I personally don't like discussing with ai that much so if that was the case pls refrain from doing that. thx:D

There is a problem in this. Honestly speaking most hackers/cheaters are from ffa community, atleast thats what I see. even if you report them in forums (thats the best way I know of) it is not enough because they just create a new alt in another 2 minutes and start hacking again. for those kinds of cheaters I think updating sentinel is the best way

In my opinion, there's nothing that can be done with the alting issue since Microsoft made it so much easier to make alts. And the only solution i can think of that can reduce the alting issue will destroy the server overall as it has with most games out there. Sentinel was constantly getting improved and with that, cheaters will find a way to work around these improvements putting the anticheat devs a step behind. So even if Sentinel was getting updated (which it is), it will never reach perfect status. For now, the forums is the best way to report users and guarantees you a response always.

Can’t cubecraft ban the ip for a extended period of time, because some people won’t just buy a vpn for cubecraft

IP bans are automatically issued from all bans, however they are not permanent as they vary and are calculated based on various factors (this is mentioned in this article). This helps to reduce the number of rule-breaking on the network, but sadly, people do find ways to bypass it using their own methods to make sure they are undetected and unblocked. I am certain that most cheaters already own VPNs and are able to get past this, otherwise they'd be not that much ban evasions.

Should also mention I've been banned by Sentinel randomly at least 5 or 6 times in like the last 2 years. I've never used a single hack client and my appeals have always been accepted, but it's still a pain in the arse.

"That's a fair point, and I agree that CubeCraft likely puts a lot of effort into improving Sentinel. Still, it's frustrating as a player when cheaters slip through. I just hope they can speed up the process a bit or communicate more openly about updates—it would help the community feel more reassured."
