👮 Turf Wars - New idea of gamemode for Blockwars ⛔


Hi everyone!! I’m back with a new idea but as you can see I am being a little more bold today with a minigame suggestion, Turf Wars. First of all, what is it?? Turf Wars is a game where you kill your enemies to take land from your enemy’s side and add land to your team’s side. Think of it like:

🛠 So.. how does it work?? ⚙️

Essentially, you must kill your enemies to gain a row of land. One kill will equal one row gained for your team. As stated in the example above:

At the end of the game, the team with the most land will win. If they are at an equal however, an extra overtime will be added that shall only last 30 seconds(shorter due to how fast it takes to kill). In this version of the gamemode, you are allowed to step on the enemy’s turf, but you are not allowed to interact with any powerups on that side. For example, you cannot pick up a strength power-up if you are blue but the power-up is on the red area. Speaking of power-ups, I think that there should be new ones specifically for this gamemode, like how in bridges there are extra arrows.


💫 New power-ups 🌟
- Double rows: One kill grants two rows instead. Lasts 20 seconds and applies for your whole team. Cannot stack.

- Neutrality pass: Spawns only in your turf. Allows you to pick up powerups on your enemy turf for 30 seconds.

Copy of a dead mineplex gamemode.

it is so dead it peaks at like 80players, and that isn't even only turf wars, that is between all "Classic" modes

wait that exists?? i based it off of hive snow wars but changed it slightly to be similar to ctf 💀

You copied everything to the exact name, except just adding the powerups from blockwars.
omg it does.. shame its a decent concept executed badly
Not executed badly, it just hasn't been updated since like 2016. It use to get like hundreds of players if not thousands.

Apart from the fact that this gamemode is already on other servers, in Java edition there is a quite similar gamemode called 'Archer Assault' which unfortunately has a very low amount of players, so I don't think it's a good idea to add it

I never said that TurfWars and Archer Assault were exactly the same, I only said that they were 'similar' since indirectly to be in that area and score points you need to kill the enemy team, which means that the team that kills more has easy to be in that area and therefore win the game.

I know that they are not the same gamemodes but the truth is that in a certain way they are quite similar, but not exactly identical.
It's the same as saying EggWars and BedWars are not similar, it wouldn't have sense.

I don't think it fits well in blockwars HOWEVER it is a great addition to PvP (Duels) especially if they would expand it to 2 v 2 in the future or 4 v 4 etc.

I wouldn't mind if it gets added in Blockwars for a while to see if it works or not.

I wouldn't mind if it gets added in Blockwars for a while to see if it works or not.
...Or Beta Games could work well... hopefully it won't end up like Line Dash :P

I feel like in Java the playerbase to back up a gamemode like this is way too small. In bedrock it may work out, you could add it as a featured game it wouldn't surprise me if it does better than most of the ones we have right now.
