This is a repost of my suggestion here - https://www.cubecraft.net/threads/p...y-requirements-of-eco-discord-servers.282861/

This suggestion was marked as planned over 5 months ago and as the community manager has now changed, and the date given for being implemented has long passed it is safe to assume this suggestion is void.

As some may have heard, earlier this year and late last year one of the ECO communities was removed from the program following evidence of child sexual abuse on the server.

After this there was a lot of arguments between community and the staff team about why they were allowed to remain despite some content remaining claiming that the community followed their guidelines, which I only recently realised raised a very important question. What are these guidelines?

I believe that these guidelines should be publicly released and accessible, both for the purpose of ensuring that members joining these servers know what they are walking into, and for the purpose of holding these servers and Cube to account should they violate these guidelines and for the purpose of knowing what sort of content is appropriate to report to the cubecraft staff, rather than just leaving it at a server level.

We have no way of knowing because there's no transparency and it's months after the deadline. If @AnimalTamer1 is doing this we should know because until we do, all we can assume is that it's been ignored and forgotten about.

Where did she say she was? Does she have any idea when it'll be done? Is there a reason/explanation it's so late? Why was no update made about the delay?

No one has any way of knowing unless they specificially ask, which will potentially delay the time it takes if I even get a reply which is honestly extremely unlikely and half the time it'll just be "we can't say" because they lack so much transparency. If there has been an update or delay of this significance we deserve to be told as this is an incredibly important topic and if they can't keep a promise to implement something on time and be open and transparent without us forcing them to be, then that's just straight up not good enough.

Hey,
We are sorry this has been such a frustrating and quiet situation from our end. We did not intend to eliminate transparency, but we do acknowledge that, in a way, it has happened since the switch of leadership back in June. When the initial message regarding implementing the suggestion (working towards it) and revamping the program occurred in April, meaning we could not take the passing of leadership from @Younisco to me into consideration as it was not known. Therefore, this has caused some delays in the process, which is not ideal but was inevitable when these changes took place.

When we updated the Admin Team’s roles, my role as an Admin changed, and I gained two extra teams completely under my watch. This change meant quite a lot of time was necessary to learn both teams, getting familiar with how they run, seeing where there was room for improvement, learning what revamps were in the works, and the vision for those. Which also meant learning what the future could look like from the prior leaderships' eyes.

From this point, we have worked hard to work on backend aspects of all teams, which I look over, including the Helper Team, which we announced in the closing of the applications, and we do expect to reopen those apps; soon! Backend work takes a variable amount of time that is hard to estimate since unexpected things can cause delays (like the changes back in June did for Younisco's original plans).

While we agree this length of time on this revamp is never ideal, we are working diligently to get this and other back-end work for those teams I watch over completed. The reason for the delay with the ECO program, besides just the change in leadership, is the need to understand what vision was had by the prior leader and what the ECO program currently is. Then, we had to sit down and work out what changes could be made to the initial restructure plan and the program to help it improve and continue to grow in the coming future. From this point, we had to look at the team itself, learn about each ECO and figure out where we may need to remove some (if any) to ensure the communities in the program are not only active but meeting the future idea for what these ECOs in the program will be. It also means discussing with them to encourage them to improve in certain aspects before removing them becomes an immediate option.

All of this takes time. However, we understand we have been a bit silent about the whole process and results, aside from Younisco's original message that the program is undergoing a restructure, and we apologize for this.

We hope this message can clear any confusion and provide better insight into what has happened throughout the few months since the rebranding. If there are any further concerns or questions regarding this, please feel free to ask, but do know that we may not be able to answer them all at this time.

Unfortunately, we cannot set a date. The reason we are refraining from doing so is that we do not want to promise a time and then have something we cannot predict occur to slow that progression down and push back that end date we promised. We do, however, desire to have this done as soon as possible. We are taking the projects on as quickly as we can, keeping in mind ensuring that we have the time to ensure they are not overly rushed and in turn not the quality we need (this would most likely force us to do even more backend work in the end to resolve those errors). Currently, we have two backend work projects running, so once these are completed we will be putting our focus even more on wrapping up the rest of the backend work for ECO. We have not been ignoring this though, as we have been still working to figure out how to improve ECO and finalizing those details in the meantime.
