Should i add 1 or 2 layers on my melon farm?

I have been building this so i can get alot of money per harvest should i add a layer or two?

If you want to continuously harvest them, then add more layers until the first section in the first layer that you've harvested regrows. Alternatively, make the current and new layers larger.

But since you're going for money, why not automate money making by making spawners or cacti? Anything that can be done automatically is generally a (better) option to consider. In your case, something like a simple fall damage grinder should get the job done for mob spawners.

I would make it much bigger. I'll attach a screenshot of my melon farm, gives me 2.2mil per harvest.

Afk cactus farms give you barely anything, same with spawners, likely to prevent this exact thing xD A stack of cacti takes 40 minutes to grow and only gives you 10k, nothing compared to my melon farm.

Also a tip: Silk touch your melons. It gives you much more inventory space, and not only that but it sells for almost double the price!

Agreed that catcus farms aren't great once you get to mid-late game.

AFK Spawners on the other hand are the single fastest way to make money once you have enough of them (specifically pigs & creepers later on). AFK for a few hours and you'll come back to millions of $ in drops.
