Why is there a lower char limit for status posts than other profile posts?

That's something I had questioned myself before. It makes no sense.

I'm mainly annoyed by the fact that you can't use shift+enter to go to the next line.
It's just a pain not having that.

There is a character limit for profile posts

It is just a higher limit
Your profile post cannot pass 420 characters
So there is actually a character limit for them just again much higher then the 140 from before
