Why can only staff delete threads?

I was wondering why only staff can delete threads?

If members had permissions to delete threads, it would most likely be abused because then anyone would be able to go on the forums and just remove the threads they feel like removing, which would be pretty chaotic.

So it is a lot about trust and keeping things clean and organized.

I meant, why can't I delete my own threads :)

you can ask to a staff for doing it if you want.
i think there will be consecuences if people is able to delete his own threads
