You don't buy iron rank with points. Like @Undead_Shadow11 found out, you have to donate ONLY for ranks. Points are ONLY for buying INGAME items.

it didn't tell u how many points u needed to get a rank. it just sed how many points u'd get once u got a rank. that's exactly how I used to think though XD
