I'm a bedrock player, I specialise in Teams of 2 Eggwars but I play solo and TO4 occasionally. I'd like to talk about cheating and I want to know what the communities take on it is.

I find that there isn't very many cheaters on Eggwars when compared to Skywars and Survival Games but there is a few.
The most common hack I see is Scaffold or Flying. This may be rushing mid to get diamonds or flying to bases and destroying eggs.

Of all game modes, Eggwars have more passive hackers who will play "scared" and not push aggressively. Hackers tend to be easier to beat in this mode (personal opinion).

I have a question to the community. What do you think CubeCraft can do to reduce the amount of hackers AND do you think that CubeCraft is doing a good job of preventing hackers?

Over my years playing eggwars I've noticed that there's a hacker in about one in three games, and more than 90% of the time the game ends and they've gone unpunished. For a server of this size I find sentinel to be sub-par, especially when you compare it to anticheats on servers with 1/10th the playerbase.
To answer your question, I think right now, Cubecraft is not doing nearly enough to deal with their cheating situation. With little staff, an inadequate anticheat, and a terrible report system, it seems harder to get caught cheating on Cubecraft than it does to not get caught.

You really can't compare Sentinel to anti-cheats of servers 1/10 of the size. They operate differently, servers 1/10 of the CubeCraft's size have most likely only one or two gamemodes so it's easier to create an effective anit-cheat.
I'm not saying that Sentinel is doing a good job but if CubeCraft were to implement an anti-cheat from a smaller server I wouldn't be surprised that every player in a certain gamemode would get banned.

The staff team is growing every month! And for now I don't think the staff team is that small any more:)
The anti-cheat has to improve yes, and they are searching for and developer so that will/might improve soon!
About the report system, I don't have the feeling that it is bad at all. In Java you can /report and the report site is really easy to use. Most operating systems have an in build replay recorder (Windows: windows-key + alt + G). With that in mind reporting isn't that hard!

The Java version of Minecraft has a built-in screenshot system. Simply press F2. You can find the file afterwards
  • On Windows
By typing run in the search bar and typing %appdata%, this will bring you to a location where open .minecraft. In that folder you'll find another folder called screenshots.
  • On MacOS
Press command-space or open spotlight search after that type ~/Library/Application Support/minecraft and hit enter. There you'll find the screenshots' folder
  • On Linux
Open search and type ~/.minecraft. There you'll find the screenshots' folder

On Bedrock, you'll need to use Windows game bar on PC or take a screenshot on a mobile device (depending on the device itself, mostly likely a combination of physical buttons)

You can record your game easily with the following programs
On PC

On an IOS device
You can simply use the build in screen recorder! You can enable this trough setting. (Settings - Control Center - Customize Controls)

On an Android device
Depending on the version of your operating system you'll have an in-build screen recorder. This one can be enabled by sliding from the top to the bottom of the screen (Where you can put the Wi-Fi on/off, ...) If you do not have an in-build screen recorder you can download of from the play store (suggestion)

Because Cubecraft is such a big network, Sentinal has a bigger job than the Anti-cheats on other servers. Sentinal also currently doesn't have a developer, so it's barely being improved, meaning client developers can find exploits to overcome. The staff team is growing and they hope to have 100 staff members by the end of 2020. Just keep reporting and it makes Cubecraft a better place!

Like you, I specialise in TO2 Eggwars and the cheating is growing unbearable. Luckily, they tend to be fairly poor at the controls and once you learn a few simple tricks and tactics, communication especially with your teammate, I find FLYERS to offer a nice challenge once in a while. However, recently I have encountered a few with a type of mod/hack to allow an increased distance for contact as well as large, and most importantly, consistent knockback making those games near impossible and painful. I think there is a huge lack of action being taken by CubeCraft in banning these hackers. I think they should be a simple, like the voting or kit screen, option with the names of all players in the game and when you die you have the option to report someone for a reason (aimbot, flying etc) and say a pattern appears with a player(s) they are banned. Obviously that method would require some fine tuning but there needs to be a far simpler way to report so more people bother as assuming a person would be screen recording at the time of death then going through a large process to report it seems incredibly unreasonable and lazy considering the amount of hackers there are.

Yeah seems like their clients are adding new features, i've noticed a lot more of the hackers I encounter have some sort of haste cheat where they break every block instantly. One time I saw someone with a reach distance of like 10 xD

People who make clients should be fined xD but yeah, one time I played 5 games in a row with hackers in them. Thank goodness noobyeeter was there to help me. Though the hacker count is high, I feel a lot safer knowing I can report to either dubby or noobyeeter and they will help immediately. Before Bedrock staff was a thing, the only staff member that actually helped kick the hackers from my game was hackersdontwin. Everyone else ignored me and said “report here -> ...”. This never made sense since this basically meant you had to lose an entire game of work because of someone cheating. But it’s definitely a lot better with Dubby and Noobyeeter around.

From personal experience I have encountered more hackers in egg wars than any other mode. The main hacks ive seen are kill aura and fly. Id say I have a 1/10 chance of finding a hacker, really with thoose odds were lower tho <.<

Hi!
Just poppin in to let you guys know that Cubecraft has hired a new Sentinel developer. He goes by the name funkemunky, and he makes Kauri anticheat, a public anticheat which is considered by many to be one of the best out there.

I think we can expect improvements not too long from now.

Hi AceMelinda, I'm pretty sure he will be doing Sentinel development for java only, as that's what he primarily codes in and has been making anticheats for quite some time now. Making an anticheat for Bedrock is harder because Mojang made nearly everything clientside, which means you can spawn stuff in with hacks and what not, something impossible on the Java platform.

What use is an anti cheat developer that will only develop Java? I'd imagine that he will be doing both platforms.

There's a bedrock anti cheat developer. His name is Hulk_, he's recently hired alongside two other anti cheat devs for Java. Maybe in the next few weeks, the anti cheat might work. I'm excited but worried at the same time about it

That's exactly one of the reasons why I said that I'm worried about it.
If he’s working on bedrock he obviously knows that jump bridging is a feature so there is nothing to worry about. Of course the anti-cheat will be having to go through a ton of testing so that it doesn’t ban innocent players for lagging to hard or floating in a game because they are afk. Point is, it’s not going to be perfect but it will work. And hey, if it doesn’t, we just report the issue then it will be fixed.

Sentinel didn't even exist until like yesterday
