Sword Durability

My Iron Sword has suddenly started to lose durability when fighting mobs, is this something that has recently been changed or is it a bug? It also says "checking item" in the text box whenever I hit a mob with any item, not just swords.

Its everybody on my skyblock, all of us get the same message when we hit mobs.

I dunno apparently it was a bug of some sort, durability of swords was removed for some reason and it sounds like they added it back at this point. I did not notice it as the Shard takes almost 2k hits to break it anyways.
