So I saw the new update to the rules (which if you haven't seen, check it here), and I thought of some minor additions that could be added to both the game rules and the forums rules:
  • Possession of Illegal Mod/Client
Technically speaking, you can't ban someone who has the client if he/she never uses it. I think players should be punished simply by having the hacked client ready as they play minecraft. They have the intention of hacking so I think this should be punishable.
  • Excessive use of CAPS
Having a word in CAPS can be interpreted as shouting and some people take this personally. Having short words like "GG" or "LOL" would be fine but having an entire sentence in CAPS would be too much. However I think there should be a proper warning first before the player gets punished as maybe he/she accidentally had CAPS lock on.
  • Ghosting
Basically, ghosting is spectating on other players and sharing the information the spectator gets to other players. So like example in eggwars, someone tries to bridge to an opponent's egg when suddenly a spectator announces that that someone is bridging. This is debatable though, and I would like to hear your opinions. Like the excessive use of CAPS, I think this should be warnable.
  • Scamming
I believe is most applicable to giveaways. If the giveaway makes the participants like a video and promises a rank to the winner but then that winner is never decided or the winner is never given the rank, then I believe this is punishable. This does fall under "trolling" in the game rules but I suggest it gets its own bold text or at least gets mentioned in the "No trolling" part.
  • Plagiarizing
This is more of a forum rule. The "Creation Corner" in the forums is where artists and creators showcase their creations and artworks (notice the switch? XD). It would be ashamed if someone steals someone else's work and claims it to be their own. I'd imagine it to be saddening or even angering to find someone else steal your map submission and maybe even get many likes and good reviews from it. The plagiarizer, in my opinion, should have their account banned from the forums if ever caught.

Feel free to disagree with any of my suggestions!

well ghosting is already a rule so is having a hacked client the other ones sound like good rules
Can you quote "ghosting" being in the game rules? I can't find it anywhere. As for the hacked clients, it does not say that you couldn't have a hacker client. Only that you shouldn't "use" it. I believe in special and rare cases, hackers would appeal saying that they never used the client. Adding that small detail could spare the explanation needed.

How would you know if somemone has a hacked client if they don't use it?

This is actually what I was thinking while I was making the thread. Honestly it's simply for staff members to punish those who forget to remove their hacked clients during a recording or snapshot of some sort. Maybe a player who has a hacked client sees another hacker and decides to screen record for reporting. His/her client would be visible in the video. Like I said in response to KitKathels17's post, this would be in extremely rare cases. I simply think this would be a very simple yet possibly effective addition in the future.

If staff sees that you have a Hacked Client they can ban you, if you're using it on Singleplayer world I don't think it will be bannable. Some people may have one to see how to spot Hackers with certain 'Hacks' on.

Why though? Sometimes I say things in caps and I think you can clearly see that it's not towards you. I don't see why people think using Excessive caps is a problem or shouting! It's just using Capital letters .-. seriously! If you see someone doing that you could warn them and maybe report (if they're not listening) them for spamming or not listening. I'm pretty sure they would be punished.

Ha, no! Look people have Discord, Skype, TeamSpeak etc.. It's just very hard to see if someone is really Ghosting or not. Maybe they're seeing of someone is Hacking or breaking another rule. They can easily bypass this and people will never know!

This is already punishable if you see someone advertising suspicious links please contact an Admin, Marco Slatter or Joe Henry.
I'm sure they will punish that person, I'm not sure if you can report them like normal rule breakers but I'm definitely sure that they will get punished if you contact one of the people I mentioned above...

I don't think people would copy other people's artworks..
Some people sign their own artwork so people can't steal it. Sp it isn't 100% necessary but it would be fun to have.

ghosting is no longer a rule idk why but it is not a rule anymore

Hacking is against the rules which would mean using a Hacked CLient aka using an illegal Mod would be considered hacking

doing fake giveaways in chat is against the rules as well in a certain way

These are all great ideas but I'm not sure where your going with the all caps idea, sometimes in lobbies I like to "&e(that's yellow text) I will be voting NORMAL! I don't see anything wrong with broadcasting what you will be voting for:D but overall great ideas, I hope that ghosting becomes an offense but it doesn't really effect me as I usually just kill the other people anyway;)

I agree with all of these add-ons to the rules except the "possession of a hacked client." If they have a hacked client then that means they might have used it on the server, or just flat out took it off when it was checked. I do understand that there might be players who have a friend or family member hacking but no chances can be made.

I have two hack clients on my pc for anti cheat testing purposes :3 I don't want of be banned just for having them. If you post a player report and you are using a hack client you get banned (even if you have nothing enabled) so this is already sort of a rule.

  • Excessive use of CAPS
The filter helps with this and its not really a problem. I don't think this should be a rule.

I think in some cases this should be considered cross teaming.

It doesn't harm any1 if the Youtuber doesn't come through with the giveaway so I don't think this should be a rule. The channel will probably fail anyway by making a fake giveaway.

  • Plagiarizing
I think this might be a good edition to the rules but instead of a ban maybe only a limited forums a count like mine :P

There is a Caps filter, you cannot type a whole sentence in all caps. It will just change it to all lowercase, so this is not an issue.

This wouldnt work, because unless they actually use it theres no way of telling if they have one or not

a ban seems a little to extreme, isnt shaming the person enough?

This would be a good idea but then only if you are using 3words in caps or saying things in caps a couple times.

Most of this has been answered, I'm not going to repeat what they say but I would like to elaborate on this :

  • Possession of Illegal Mod/Client

What happens once the recording stops? We can't guarantee that the recorder isn't breaking the rules either.
Players would think it's okay to have it, just not use it while recording. Imagine I have these clients but didn't use it, someone accuses me of hacking, the situation wouldn't favor me as I have no evidence to back myself up. I have the clients, I didn't use it but the fact still remains, I have it, I could have used it.
