Yes, I know where your failure comes from, I'm pretty sure they're able to remove this.
In my case, this is also bothersome when you play the parkour minigame in Minerware.
So yes, I agree with you to remove the push feature.

I'm still able to crit people anyway, try restarting your Minecraft. :)
