I despise 1.8, so I don't think this should be added, but other players enjoy playing FFA (Version: 1.8), so they definitely would like OP FFA (Version 1.8) added.

I mean at the moment, Classic FFA barely gets 20 players, while most of the other FFA (besides Soup) gets usually a full map +. It sounds fun, but not to sure how many players will actually play it. It does remind of Cubecraft's FFA way back then, but I rather like how it is now.
