I believe they do introduc new maps from time to time, but there are many gamemodes that need new maps, so just be patient!

Adding new maps isn't as simple as it sounds, because there are many stages one map goes through before getting added into the game. Though I am sure one day a new map will be added, you suggesting it probably won't speed up the process.

Time after time new maps are added and others disappear. but usually these maps remain available or you can still see them for iron rank or higher in the gui.
My opinion is that some new maps are definitely needed.
I prefer to play eggwars teams. Even though I play without friends in a party. 'To defend your egg.'But it does take a while. The designers and developers have to work hard on this.
