Hii,

I wanted to make a suggestion about the matchmaking system. I have noticed that most matchmaking is focussed on wait time or playercount. For example I was playing FFA and when the map closed, I was sent to a NA map because there were more player in it. While there were 3 other EU maps open with little to no players.

I hope I speak for most that we prefure equal ping over a shorter wait time or a fuller map.

Unsure about this because at certain times (at night, imagine having a sleep schedule) there are just so few players playing in your own region that it’d take forever to get a game started (or to get enough players to make FFA fun-ish).

Usually I’d agree with you, but at times like that I’d absolutely prefer a game with higher ping over having to wait 2 hours for enough EU players, so unless there’d be a way to decide whether ping or wait time are more important at that specific moment I don’t think I agree entirely.

Edit: This is probably more of an issue on java than on bedrock

I agree and disagree with this, while for bedrock this should be fine, I could see this potentially be a issue during off peak hours on java.

This is a topic that has been brought up many times and sadly doing it like this is not beneficial as the majority of the playerbase are extreme casuals that get turned away by long waiting times. The only thing that would work is an optional setting that does that, but i dont think our server supports that
