You can buy clay and from there get bricks I think.

For some reason i can't buy clay but i have a quest that tells me i need clay

Oh I thought the only way to get clay is to buy it under blocks or mis. I can and haven’t gotten that quest yet, so I would believe you could.

Clay is typically under water. What island are you on? I'm guessing the swamp island is the place to look. Generally, once you find an item you can then buy it in the store.

If you look more down in the thread (here) you see that he doesn’t have clay since he’s not at that stage yet.

I don’t think you can find clay in the world. I at least haven’t and can buy it.
