Java Free for All did the server upgrade to 5000 people?

did the server upgrade to 5000 people? because i remember it being 2000 max. i'm i crazy or did it?
also i suggest upgrading the server tps cause its always lagging. and adding an option in the settings to choose recommended server region like a setting to always search for skywars eu maps or yep, it wouldn't hurt.

Yes, they increased the player limit, so a lot more people are online now.
But to be honest, I've noticed the server lagging more often lately, especially during peak times.
TPS drops can be pretty bad sometimes, and laggy hits are very annoying in pvp game modes.
I hope they work on improving performance soon, because when it's too bad, it really ruins the fun.
Your idea of choosing a server region sounds good too, but I guess the system works automatically.
