Introduction​

I'm watching movies almost every day for around 4 years since I have nothing else to do and I can't sleep. I used to watch movies in the cinema with friends but now that I have no friends I watch home alone, hopefully this will change one day.
Since I've seen the post of @jxiiz about searching for movies and the post of @JokeKaedee about movies and series on Netflix I thought why not showing the best movies I've seen so far but not only available on Netflix :)
I will also try to share a little impression about the movie or why I decided to watch it, I won't spoil anything.
I've watched movies from really old to very recent movies so you will also see movies from the 90s.

I'm not really a series man so if you have some just send in the replies as I would like to see more series.

Movies​

All movies will be separated in different sections per genre so that you can directly go to the genre you eventually like.

Spoiler: Action

Action​

This is my favorite genre of movies therefore there might be more movies in this category.

• Aliens (1986)
  • The movie itself is a legendary movie, that's what also a lot of people say, the special effects are quite insane for the time when it was created.
• All the Jason Bourne related movies (2002, 2004, 2007, 2012 & 2016)
  • It's similar to James Bond with the difference that there's a background about Jason Bourne which makes all the movies really interesting. Waiting for the eventual next one O.o
• American Sniper (2014)
  • When I have my military service next year I want to be a sniper.
• Black Widow (2021)
  • The movie is quite interesting because I wouldn't completely qualify it as an action movie, but it's really worth it!
• Casino Royale (2006)
  • For me this is the best James Bond movie, I also like how Mads Mikkelsen acts. (That's why I'm watching Hannibal.)
• Die Hard 1, 2 & 3 (1988, 1990 & 995)
  • I like the concept of the wrong cop at the wrong place. It's also played with Bruce Willis which is an actor I really like.
• Gladiator (2000)
  • I really like this movie as it's about a son who wants to get a vengeance over his brother.
• Inception (2010)
  • I liked the plot a lot and it's directed by Christopher Nolan.
• Olympus Has Fallen, London Has Fallen & Angel Has Fallen (2013, 2016 & 2019)
  • For me these movies are awesome because you sort of follow the life of a secret agent. I also like how Gerard Butler is acting. Waiting for the eventual next one O.o
• Jurassic Park (1993)
  • I used to be scared of the t-rex when I was very small, always was one of the best dinosaur related movie for me.
• Kill Bill 1 & 2 (2003 & 2004)
  • These movies came out when I was born and I haven't watched them since last year. Awesome movies with an insane soundtrack that I listen to quite often.
• La Liste (2016)
  • I don't really know if this can be qualified as a movie, but I really like this 'movie' as I do competitive freeriding.
• Rambo: First Blood (1982)
  • This movies is quite old and pretty unrealistic, yet I found it quite attractive and interesting to watch.
• Taken 1, 2 & 3 (2008, 2012 & 2014)
  • I really like hostage movies and these three movies were belong the best I've seen. And Liam Neeson is playing the protagonist :D
• The Dark Knight (2008)
  • For me this is the best Batman movie because of the Joker. The way of how Heath Ledger plays his character is amazing.

Spoiler: Adventure

Adventure​

I only watched a few adventure movies but the most I've watched were really good.

• Apollo 13 (1995)
  • For me the entire story about Apollo 13 fascinated me and when I've seen there was a movie existing I literally went crazy.
• Coco (2017)
  • The story itself is not what I liked the most although it was insane, what I liked the most was the how beautiful and realistic this animated movie is.
• Everest (2015)
  • I'm a competitive freerider which means I like mountains and climbing, the Everest is for me an insane mountain and I really enjoyed the movie.
• Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (2001)
  • This is where Harry Potter all started, I've watched all the movies after liking this one within 2 days.
• The Grey (2012)
  • Wolves are my favorite animals, this movie is about wolves.

Spoiler: Romance

Romance​

I... I've never really watched a lot of romance movies because it makes me think how lonely I am x)

• Terminal (2004)
  • Comedy and romance (more comedy), all of this made me enjoy the movie. First time I've watched it was at New Year.
• Titanic (1997)
  • The only and one romance movie I've really watched, this made me cry.

Spoiler: Horror

Horror​

Horror movies the past were better, that's why I also most of the time watch old horror movies. All the recent horror movies are pretty similar which makes it boring.

• A Quiet Place (2018)
  • The concept of having to live in the silence or your life would be threatened is quite interesting.
• All the Conjuring movies (2013, 2016 & 2021)
  • I don't really know what I enjoyed the most about these but it's a quite nice story.
• Cube (1997)
  • People are waking up in a giant cube and must combine their strength to be able to survive. Teaming is always something I've enjoyed.
• Halloween (2018)
  • I like how Michael Myers is represented.
• Hostel (2005)
  • First horror movie I've seen.
• Jaws (1976)
  • My parents showed me this movie when I was quite young. Since then I hate swimming in the ocean...
• The Shining (1980)
  • The original shining. I actually believe people can be affected by an evil spirit, this made me watch it.

Spoiler: Science Fiction

Science Fiction​

As you will see science fiction is something I like, specifically about space, aliens, etc.

• Ad Astra (2019)
  • What if human life would not longer exist on Earth?
• Arrival (2016)
  • This is a movie I quite enjoyed because it's not really a typical alien movie where aliens just kill everything on their way.
• Back to the Future (1985)
  • Time travelling has always been something I liked.
• E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial (1982)
  • This is a movie of my childhood, quite sad movie when I watched it.
• Interstellar (2014)
  • I also had to leave everything behind me and focus myself on the future, which I still haven't managed to do.
• Radius (2017)
  • This movie is not only a science fiction movie but also a kind of romance movie, the plot is also very interesting.
• The Martian (2015)
  • What if Mars would be a planet we could live on?
• Wall-E (2008)
  • Also a movie I've watched with my family when I was pretty young and quite enjoyed it.

Spoiler: Thriller

Thriller​

Thriller movies are almost all pretty interesting so I enjoyed most of them.

• Escape Plan (2013)
  • Escaping from a high security prison interests me. (Hopefully I won't get arrested...)
• Inside Man (2006)
  • A fascinating movie about a bank robbery. This made me play PAYDAY 2.
• Point Break (1991 & 2015)
  • Both of the movies are pretty similar, it was the last movie I've watched with friends.
• Primal Fear (1996)
  • This is my favorite movie. It's about a crime and they have to prove a double identity.
• Prisoners (2013)
  • This is a story about something that can happen to anyone at any time.
• The Silence of the Lambs (1991)
  • I like how Anthony Hopkins plays Hannibal. The movie made me watch the series Hannibal.
• The Revenant (2015)
  • Someone left for dead and how he came back from the death captivated me.
• Zodiac (2007)
  • I always liked movies about serial killers and then I decided to watch this one and I ended up really enjoying it.

Final words​

It's been around 4 years since I've started watching movies intensively and I watched quite a lot of movies.
If you want to share your list of favorite movies, do not hesitate as I will look at every single reply on this thread.

I currently have around 60 movies downloaded so I am not yet finished in watching movies. If there are any edits in the list I will edit the thread and add a reply saying what has been added.
