Voting is something you get from donating to the server. It's what gives many players inventive to buy many of the ranks. It wouldn't make sense to change this since many players have spent money in order to be able to vote and taking that privilege away from them isn't right.

Although I see your point, getting armour in eggwars is much easier than it is in assassins. When you play hardcore (or any other mode really) on eggwars, you can just hop onto a generator or have materials stored in a chest and get everything back without much trouble so it isn't much of an issue.

I don't think players are muted every time they say a word like "gay" or any other word with similar meaning. If someone were to say "I'm gay" then they wouldn't get muted because it's not insulting or offensive towards anyone. But if a player was calling someone else gay, then it could be seen...
