[Hardware] Monthly PC Build - May

This is the first time I've posted this here. In the future, I plan on posting it on my own website first, then copy-paste it here. I would simply link to my forum if I could, but that could be considered advertising.

[Hardware] Monthly PC Build - May

Introduction: Hey, guys! Every month, I will be doing a PC build, whose purpose and budget will be determined by you guys. I won't actually be making the PC and testing it; rather, I will be providing a parts list that you can use if you want to build a new PC. Because this is the first month...

    New gaming PC

An extra 400MHz (300MHz on max Turbo) won't make a big difference in performance. Dropping to the 3GB 1060, however, will make a significant difference. That being said, now that Ryzen 5 is out, here is my revised parts list: PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant CPU: AMD Ryzen...

Here's a good £750 build. Let me know if you need peripherals included in the budget, and I'll adjust the list. PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant CPU: Intel Core i5-7400 3.0GHz Quad-Core Processor (£159.97 @ Amazon UK) Motherboard: Asus H110M-K Micro ATX LGA1151...

    "Hackusations" 2

They both seemed to have a good connection - they weren't really glitching around and they had nearly full bars in the tab list. I definitely wouldn't have given them such a hard time if they were lagging. The fight actually went on for several minutes before this - they had decent (leather...

    "Hackusations" 2

Hello, CubeCraft! Today, I bring you the second installment of "Hackusations." Previous installment Today's players are Kaiserchie and T0N0. After fighting them on their island for what felt like ages, I was able to break their egg and take my team one step closer to victory. If you're itching...

    "Hackusations" 1

Exactly! Everyone on his team had fairly poor ping, and it definitely showed in fights against them. Because it was difficult to fight when they were lagging around, I had to resort to cheap shots like this.

    "Hackusations" 1

Hello, CubeCraft! Today, I bring you the first installment of a new series called "Hackusations." In this series, I show fights I've been in that resulted in me being accused of hacking. Today's player is Canalettis. After an epic skydive off of Murica Gaming's patented High Life™ bridge, I...

    HALP - Buying a Monitor

I strongly suggest getting a 144Hz monitor, like this: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/asus-mg248q-24-3d-led-fhd-monitor-black/5707937.p?skuId=5707937

    Pentium Kabylake or i3 6100

I'd go with the G4560. If the options were the Pentium and an i3-7100, the decision would be much more difficult (3.9GHz? Dang!).

What is the BEST CPU brand?

Intel beats AMD in all but one category - cheap multi-threaded performance. If you want a cheap server to run things like VMs or multiple game servers, you can't go wrong with something like an 8350. For pretty much every other task, though, Intel wins in both performance and performance per...

Need ideas for a computer dedicated to Minecraft

If you record with Nvidia Share, neither build will have issues recording. Unfortunately, Share's audio capture isn't the best. If you want to use OBS or some other recording software that encodes on the CPU, you'll want at least an i5 (with an i7 being preferred). What's your budget?

    PC Setup/Spec Thread

I have a ModMic I used to use. It's a phenomenal little mic for the money and is almost as good as my AT2020. Since this thread is technically dead (and since my setup has changed somewhat since I posted this), I'll make a new thread.
