Okay so I feel like we all agree blockband is dead however that doesn't mean that it will always be dead
This is a suggestion about how Blockband could be brought back (With a lot of new modes)
There will be multiple changes to the game for this suggestion as well as some new additions to it and maybe more than just it so let's just hop right into it
Note: If you disagree with all of them you have to explain why or else your vote cannot count and I don't like/play/want blockband isn't a valid reason I hate to have to put this here but everytime I make a suggestion with none of the above as an option even when I say explain why there are always votes for it when nobody explained anything

Small Changes & Additions
  • New themes - So right now there are 6 themes and 5 ranks can buy with Vanity points, 6 is a small number and I personally think more than 6 would be great to bring it back. Some examples are an old time diner theme (referencing Jazz) or a DJ set with everyone's favourite DJ @Buuuddy (referencing more modern music)
  • Only accurate notes play - okay so if you've ever played the game and been terrible like me maybe you have had problems with your playing
I personally find that it playing notes when I get it wrong messes me up when it comes to beat wise especially when you are listening to the actual music at the same time. My suggestion here is to only play notes when you hit the right note
  • A leaderboard - I don't think I need to explain why so yeah, it's just to see the top players there are in the whole game
  • New titles - Okay so currently if you hit tab you will see [your name here] the rockstar. So that's it we can't be anything else? I am suggesting have other titles you can purchase with (vanity) points for titles like: DJ, Pop star, Jazz man, and more
  • /Pause, /Play, and /Skip - Okay so imagine you are about to 3 star a really hard level than the blocks start lagging okay instead of just being screwed you know what you could do? you would be able to do /pause which will pause you in your song so you don't get screwed over and /play which continues a song after it is paused. /Skip will skip the song you are on in case you didn't mean to join in
New Modes
  • 1v1 mode - This would be a huge new addition to the game where you can go into a certain place and challenge players to a 1v1 game of Blockband where the highest score wins (You can't gain anything like stars from these duels but you can win experience) you can also chose any of the modes after this one to do 1v1.
  • Bass mode - Okay so you may be thinking "what is base mode jollow?" to that I say a different way to play using a different instrument. Right now you are playing guitar when you normally play but what if there were also a bass. Okay so the Base is similar to the guitar for this but instead it has another string this string comes in your 4th hotbar slot and it is orange here is a small version of what it might look like
    2017-06-10_18.30.49.png
This bass will also have a 7th which comes before orange when you get to the last song on this mode the string would be pink and it only appears on the last level for hard songs in this mode only
  • Piano mode - Okay similar to the base mode it is supposedly using a different instrument this time it is a piano and it that is also very different. Piano is a different type all together here is a small representation of what it would look like (but much bigger)
    2017-06-10_18.11.59.png
how you play this game type is by hitting the note blocks at the right time to score more points this mode also comes with it's own custom settings you can also chose to have buttons on them if you want (chances are the note blocks will move a block further apart) this game type would make for a more exciting and movement based game. since it is movement based though you do have speed 1.
  • Mirror mode - This mode is basically the same as normal except the colours of clay in your hand are in the opposite order while the board stays the same way it is. Basically instead of both the board and the colours of clay in your hotbar being ordered 'yellow, blue, red, green, brown' only the board is ordered 'yellow, blue, red, green, brown' but the clay colours in your inventory are ordered 'brown, green, red, blue, yellow' like this (but bigger)
    2017-06-10_20.42.25.png
  • Blindness mode - In this mode you have blindness but lucky for you the blocks have the glowing effect, the glowing effect will give all blocks a certain colour either yellow, blue, red, green, or brown there will also only be 1 row so the colour that you press is determined on the colour of the glow in the block
  • Lava floor mode - okay now this mode is actually like lava floor basically it is lava floor mixed in with Piano mode blockband the ground will turn yellow, orange, red if you fall you are above in a glass cage for 3 seconds if you step off of a block it turns back to brown
Custom songs
Okay for this addition the name says it all. with an obsidian rank you can do make a max of 3 (emerald has 2 and stone rank+ with 1). Now unfortunately, you can't use these for 1v1s in this suggestion (to avoid any problems) what you can do however is make your own songs for you to play through by yourself this would be mainly for the fun of it and it works out perfectly for everyone. (you don't gain anything like points, experience, or cubelets) from these obviously

Tell me what you think
Also once again you can't say that this game will never be fixed as an excuse to say no
@komododragon 2002 Yes that's why I was in blockband the other day @Unipotato @TriangleAttack again why I was in blockband @ElPtricko @Sincerely @Soeshi @iCheeetah @RayzMC @Perdawdian

Amazing idea, I think this should definitely be added. These game modes will suit the game, and hopefully players will be liking your ideas.
Keep up the ambitious work!

Thank you. :)

Sounds really good! The reason I don't like blockband is because it's almost not competitive at all and that I mostly like games where you play with friends, but the 1v1 games would definitely fix that as well as a leaderboard.
So, I completely agree with pretty much everything, it could make it a game I would play sometime. ;)

The ideas are really nice and put clearly throughout the post. It might as well be added for block band.

Ever since the game came out, I've never really liked it. Not sure if there are too many people out there who like Guitar Hero, and most players in Cube probably find it as a bore. It's better to cut the game off and make new ones. You can add all these things, but the concept of the game is still unappealing.

So you want me to explain why I think none of these ideas would really bring more popularity to the game? I'm not saying these are bad ideas, but I personally don't think the community is interested. I can explain why the ideas aren't really going to be a big hit, but in the end, I think it's better to let Blockband go.

Yea, but with good reasons. The game is unappealing, it is not like other popular success such as Arcade. Or a game like Eggwars. Guitar Hero may have been popular when it was released, but that was how long ago? The audience today just don't like the game.

Guitar hero was also popular because it wasn't made in a block building game.

you are talking about the game right now

think about how many people were playing Arcade for example before it came out with a new update
there were more people playing it after the update than before so if they updates it think about this people would play it and if they liked these new additions they would stay
Guitar hero was also popular because it wasn't made in a block building game.

Kind of my point. Before the Arcade update, the old arcade managed to always get around 20 ish player per lobby. And that's when I get on late. When the most players are on Cube, the lobby gets even more players. Now compared to Blockband, which one has the greater amount of players? Arcade of course. But the games haven't been updated in a while! Why doesn't Blockband have an equal number of players?? Because the game is not something for the target audience o Cube.

Even if they took your ideas and put it into practice, the game remains the same.

yes it may have had more before but that is because players had more to chose from in arcade now there is only 1 game
this suggestion adds new ways to play and remember a certain suggestion here

that fits into allowing friends to play together almost doubling the amount of people who may play after an update

you are comparing it to a game with currently more variety

Than let's compare paintball in Arcade, before the update, to Blockband. Paintball still managed to get more players even though the game got repetitive. That's because people prefer it over Blockband. I tip my hat off to you for making this thread. It expresses your appreciation for Blockband, but I have a different view on Blockband.

yes got repetitive so they changed it
I don't see what you are trying to prove to me?
Blockband was repetitive if you were bad at it *cough cough* me *cough cough*
it doesn't mean that an update wouldn't reduce repetitive gameplay
even in my suggestion what would reduce it

I personally am not that big of a fan of it (maybe it is because I can't get passed the first 4 levels)

What I'm trying to prove is the sentence you didn't include in the quote. People prefer Paintball (and most of the other games) over Blockband. Although the game mode of Paintball was repetitive after a while, it still got more players than Blockband. Why? Because the game isn't really something people wanted.

I really like it. 1 problem: suggestions aren't taken seriously! /skip isn't needed, you can already do /wuss Although, /skip would be better in my opinion. Instead of mirror mode, you can just change your Handedness from left or right or from right to left.
