Recently I tried to report players for teaming but I didn't have time to start recording so I took screenshots instead. I would usually record because I'm a youtube myself but sometimes you don't have time to start recording because you are in the middle of fighting the teamers and that doesn't mean that the teamers should get away with it. Also the first person to comment on my report was a staff member and they locked and denied my report! Here is what they said...

Report denied. To be able to report teaming, you need to provide video proof. Thanks though! :)
Please read this next time, before reporting a player :) https://www.cubecraft.net/threads/player-reporting-guidelines-and-formating.136047

Locked.

I find this extremely unprofessional and unfair to the person that spent their time reporting them just to have their report locked and denied. Also this means that the teamers got away with this and they didn't even get a warning. I suggest a new way of using reports instead of just locking them because they didn't take a video and used multiple screenshots instead. (I don't expect teamers because it's against the rules so why would my recording software always be ready every time I play)

Here is my suggestion:
Instead of locking the report and denying all evidence you should still be able to use the post but just in a different way then you would use a post with video footage. If someone is able to show you the in game name of the player/players and is able to show you an example or preferably multiple examples (multiple screenshots) instead of a video the players that were reported should be on a watch list. Even though you wouldn't have 100% proof you would have a good idea that the player reported was doing something wrong.

Using the watch list you could monitor the forums to see if there gamertag appears again in a new post or in multiple new posts and even if none of those new posts have video footage but have multiple screenshots on the same subject you could then decide if the player would get a warning. (Also posts about the same player doing the same thing, in this case teaming, should have to come from different players so you know one person does't just want a player to be banned and is setting them up)

Another alternative to watching them on the forums is just to have a staff member check up on them while they are online to see if they are teaming. I suggest the staff member being invisible (in spectator mode) so the player on watch doesn't act differently because they know they are being watched. Finally if you want another alternative instead of the two ones I suggested above you can always just confront the player and ask (if they are honest the punishment would be less).

The reason having a watch list would be good is so players don't need to always be prepared with a recording software set up while they are playing. If players have a recording software set up then they probably won't be playing for fun and they would just be playing to find and report cheating players. This means you would have less players reporting cheaters meaning it would be easier for people to cheat making the server less fun for people to play on. Having a more simple way for players to report cheaters on the spot if they don't have time to set up a recording would make it easier to get rid of more cheaters on the server. After all, every player has a screenshot button but the majority of players wouldn't be able to record.

Thanks for reading this suggestion and I hope it will help the server have less cheaters by making it easier for players to report cheaters on the spot. If you have any questions on this suggestion ask me down below I'll respond as soon as I see it.

The problem is that staff can't spectate a game in progress. You need video to make sure it wasn't just a dropped item while they were in a fight. Also, photos can be easily photoshopped.

deep inside my mind...
For teaming offenses, we require video evidence because screenshots can be faked. Also, because screenshots don't show them moving around and avoiding each other to go after one person. Even with 100 screenshots, you still wouldn't be able to have sufficient evidence that the players were teaming.

Even though you wouldn't have 100% proof you would have a good idea that the player reported was doing something wrong.
We have to have 100% proof or else we could be giving a false punishment. Which hurts our staff reputation greatly.

I suggest the staff member being invisible (in spectator mode) so the player on watch doesn't act differently because they know they are being watched.
This is not possible as staff cannot join games that have already begun (excluding FFA and Assassins). Would be nice, but can't at the moment.

Finally if you want another alternative instead of the two ones I suggested above you can always just confront the player and ask (if they are honest the punishment would be less).
The player could lie. Simple as that.

If you are worrying about having a recording software up while playing then I'm not sure what to tell you. I have fun all the time playing with my friends and I keep my bandicam up just incase we come across someone breaking a rule that needs a recording. If your recording software has a hotkey to start/stop recording then I suggest using as all you have to do is press one key to start and the same/another key to stop. As for the warning, well, if you know about it before they get to you, then you have plenty of time to warn them.

I am with you, because I once uploaded a report and this guy had a naked skin, it had a penis but the pixels were hard to see. But it was there, I even aked other people if they agreed. But no, @Moooofin couldn't see the penis, and I couldn't tell him how to see it, because he locked. Bruh, it's weird I know.

True, I guess. But some staff members COUGH (every single one of them, even you pretty sure) always get spammed with useless stuff, and don't have time to go through all the PMs. I might be wrong, I admit it.

I don't mind how many pms/alerts I have. I don't sleep unless I have read and answered them all :)

I almost always go through my PMs and try to do what I can at the time. It's best not to assume that just because one staff member may seem to ignore messages, that all of them do.

True, true.
By the way, not saying they completely ignore messages, but you know, I can understand having loads of messages and having to answer to all of them, might be just be the lazy Ping that I am.
Hint: it is.

Every other staff member here has posted reasons why this should NOT be a thing. And they couldn't be more right. If we can't accept evidence as it is against the guidelines, then that's it. No more. Not another thought. Same goes for if we can't see enough evidence for a punishment. We can't find players in the middle of a game, we don't have the time to check up if a player has been reported again, nothing like that. We take our own free time (we have lives too) to go through the hundreds of reports players post every day, and you complain about it taking too much time to report 2-3 players a day? I'm really sorry, but this isn't how this works.

Next time, put this in the correct sub-section: https://www.cubecraft.net/forums/suggestions.33/ .
