Why is this server 1.9 when 10/15 of the gamemodes are PvP based?

Another post about changing the PvP mode... No, just no. I like 1.9/1.10 PvP better than 1.8. Most of the gamemodes have an option to play with 1.8 PvP.

While I do agree 1.8 does require more skill, Cubecraft is 1.9 because they wanted to use the new features such as the tipped arrows and elytra.

I highly disagree with that. 1.8 is a lot more than spamclicking. If you have spot on aim clicking 4 times a second is practically unbeatable.

regardless you honestly cannot say that the old pvp took more skill. Before it was basically "if i get the jump on you or if i hit first I win" because they could easily hit you 3-6 times before you can react to it. Meanwhile new pvp doesn't matter who hits first. and it added two seperate ways to pvp (axes and swords). I honestly do not understand how people say with a straight face that 1.8 pvp is better than 1.9.

You still need good skills in 1.9, trust me...
I'm still learning, I'll consider myself good at pvp when I can beat @iLoveYouu.
