Coding OBS Gets Quirky

So, OBS can't record Minecraft properly. It records the first few seconds, then the video freezes, though the sound works fine. I've tried turning up/down the encoding. I can record everything else perfectly fine. Can someone help me? I need to be able to catch hackers (not that I've met any so far). Please note that Minecraft does not lag when I record/try to record.

Could you make screenshots or a video? (settings, the first few seconds of the recording session etc.)
that would be handy!

Could you also write you PC specifications?
taskmanager ---> Performance (prestaties in dutch) ---->right click on processor -> copy + paste

Did you tried to put your "Output mode" on Advanced? I also got that problem when I used the simple Output mode, but now everything's fine with the Advanced output.

I've got the same problem! I've almost no lagg, but the video is just horrible to watch, the game freezes every 5 seconds or something! everytime I switch from minecaft to OBS there's something on the left side of OBS in a red colour.

I've NO lag with 60 FPS (you can change 60 for 30 or whatever you want
you can check your MAX. BITRATE here:

every number x 1000
example 12 x 1000 = 12,000

Hey doods! If you have laggy problems then you could try eyeframe to convert the video, and watch it through a video editting software. I used to have a slight lag when I directly put it into a video editing software without converting the file.

OBS should work without lag for (almost) every PC

Well it was when i put the video in to a video editing software it would lag every 5 secs, but after putting it through eyeframe it's all good now :D

Changing FPS to 60 or 120 works, but not good enough. Should I turn it up more?

you can upload 60 FPS MAX on YouTube.

this is the status bar
Gedropte Frames / dropped frames must on 0 the whole time.
FPS : 60 FPS is the MAX for YouTube videos you can change it to a higher value but YT will change it to 60 FPS
Green box (kb/s) : this is the status:
green: good healthy
yellow: lag/cannot reach to the Bit rate
red: cannot reach the FPS and Bit rate

turning the FPS up won't work
try:
60 FPS
MAX bitrate 12000 kb/s
1280x720 or 1920 1080

or

30 FPS
MAX bitrate 8000
1280x720 or 1920x1080

I just use the Windows 10 DVR, it's free and it works, and when it messes up i get into a support chat with microsoft, they do some magic and then we are fixed and ready to go again!!!

you must check how much FPS you get in your minecraft while you're recording. If you start recording and your FPS is lower then 60 it won't record. So I see 34 FPS in The end result 4 so change your settings to 30 FPS.

Oh, so the FPS you should use in OBS depends on the FPS the application you're trying to record has?
