It's simple enough, just enter your answer in the poll. I'm curious to see who everyone is like. :P

If you don't know what those mean:
Optimist- you look for the best in a situation.
"Hey guys, we did better."
Pessimist- you look at things with a negative tone.
"Hey guys, we weren't as horrible."

Optimism leads to a happier life style in my opinion xD It can also lead to better goals, achievements and self-set standards :D

It can also lead to blind cheerfulness, ignorance, and recklessness.
Pessimists are never disappointed when things go bad and are always pleasantly surprised when things go well. The key to happiness is having looooooow expectations.
Thats exactly what I am xD +1 to you Tacos #lowexpectationsftw

Pessimism can lead to depression, yes, but it also leads to caution, careful planning, and skeptics can often change bad things from occurring.

Idk
My expectations for certain reasons aren't as high as an optimists expectations would be, so I guess i'm declared a pessimist.

There is no life without competition. Optimism is letting things slide because you feel bad you didn't succeed. Instead of just thinking or saying you will do it, just prove it by doing it. That should be all the motivation one needs.

Not really, because if you're always having high expectations, things are barely going to live up to them expectations. Then, you find yourself disappointed in what happened, and you find yourself pretending to be happy and like it when you don't in some cases. You may find the positives in everything, but you're never fully content with what you have because of what you expected to have.

I always want to be high achieving and looking at the better things because the reward at the end is really nice. Especially when you look at your parents after you graduating with ease, and after that you are pretty much going to have a life filled with positive until, of course, death and other family situations of such.

I got a really good grade in my science test and my parents decided to take me to a restaurant, and I thought that if I carry on getting good grades then rewards will get better. My brother is going to a Formula One race in Dubai, where he goes down into the cockpits and meeting the prestigious drivers. And I became extremely jealous. If I just achieve, rewards will follow, and rewards will be good and bad.

To be honest, I don't think people should be labeled as optimist or pessimist.. kinda stupid tbh. Not everyone is going to act this way 24/7. Even the grouchiest and crankiest will always have at least one happy time which takes away from their "pessimist" label. And even the happiest or the ones that look happiest on the outside are secretly breaking down emotionally on the inside. In my opinion optimist and pessimist should just be a state of feeling [ I'm feeling pessimistic or optimistic today, etcetera ], not a characteristic or personality trait. Like, "I'm so optimistic." ... Are you happy and grateful for everything that happens? Including the bad stuff? Optimist and pessimist just erases certain emotions I feel. If you're optimistic, you can't feel too sad or be deeply depressed because you have to look for the best in every situation. If you're pessimistic you can't be ecstatic or overjoyed because you "look at life in a negative way".. so on so forth. Every person should have the right to feel how they want to feel.. we're all allowed to be ecstatic and depressed and if we just label someone as "optimistic" or "pessimistic" it just gives the wrong idea to people [ Oh you're optimistic, you can't ACTUALLY sad are you? Cheer up!!! ] I dunno, people shouldn't' be judged like this cause it doesn't really make logical sense, if you ask me. It should be a state and/or feeling, not a characteristic of who you are or a way to describe someone.

And this is talking about most of the time. No one is fully either :p
Generally though, some peple tend to look at situatons immediately with a negative outlook rather than a positive. Again, like Tacos said,
Pessimists are never disappointed when things go bad and are always pleasantly surprised when things go well. The key to happiness is having looooooow expectations.
Pessimists are never disappointed and prepared for the worst, but are cheerful when things go well. So in a way they are kind of optimistic.
Again, no one is fully either, but most of the time it relates to their personality, whether it be a serious person or bubbly and cheerful. :D

Again, I see optimism/pessimism not as a feeling, but as your personality. A serious person isn't always serious, a bubbly person isnt always cheerful. Its never a constant things, its always changing. Just, some people tend to look at things first darker than others, like some people see the darkness at the roadahead of them while others see the light at the end of the tunnel <3

First things first, I'm a realist
Lmao, but that means I just look at the world, I don't look at the positives or the negatives, I just sit there looking pretty while the world is being itself. Optimists see the glass half full, Pessimists see it as half empty, and Realists like me just drink the water cuz I am thirsty and its water.

I think I am a pessimist because I always look down on things, believe it or not. At school, for like a play r concert, most people say we are gonna have an epic fail and mess up a billion times because we aren't ready, and I'm one of those people. Most every time, though, we never mess up. Sure maybe one here once there, but nothing big.
