Everyone lands on a small starting island which is empty but relatively safe. Starting islands have no chests, but there are chests a short, easy jump away. There is no way to return to the starting island. This is so players who start with eggs/bow or just plain good luck can't just stay on the safe-ish spawn forever. Terrain cannot be added/removed a-la hunger games forcing parkour. Alternatively everything could be made out of materials that can't be built off (e.g. crafting tables, chests).

As you get lower in the map there would be a greater density of blocks, some platforms, more chests. This is to balance the advantage that players who are still higher up on a map get in terms of ranged PvP. There should be a way back up in the middle is to allow any spawn campers to be killed.

It could be implemented as a new map in the existing Sky Wars set up with virtually zero developer time required. Just something for any builders with time on their hands to think about...

This should probably be it's own thing as players aren't able to stay in their starting islands and can't break blocks, in that case, I'd like to suggest simply not having any ranged items on chests, only melee weapons available...

I think it is a great idea but for people who would stay in the starting island would you have disappearing blocks?

No need.

You have to balance the level so that people who haven't played it before aren't killed within the first few second, but also don't get an advantage by doing nothing. Hence the spawn is relatively safe but has not chests. There would be a way back up to the top of the Parkour arena in the middle. This is so spawn-campers as you suggest, who would have nothing but their starting kit, wouldn't win in the end, anyway.

I don't think it should be melee only - part of the fun is the difficulty of the ranged combat.

Sorry this suggestion is a bit vague - I half built a sample arena and realised it was ugly as all hell. I am no builder for sure.

...but snow/eggs might. I hadn't realised the snow kit had 64 eggs to start with, I'd never started it before. That one does pose a bit of problem, ugh, would have to be denied on the map, or have reduced egg count on the map, or something. Still possible, just requires some coding which I hadn't thought would be necessary.

I don't think this is a good idea for a new game, it's just a different type of Skywars games.

I like the map idea to do a Skywars/Parkour Crossover, but if you would really do that, Ranged Items (Bow & Arrow, Snowballs, Eggs) should only be very rare, so it's not a short game of "Wait-for-enemies-to-parkour-and-shoot-them".

Perhaps the simplest solution: no starting kits at all, with chests only at the end?

I'm guessing there is a way to delete those 3 kits (also archer) from the game. The coding would just have to be different than regular skywars

One of the better put-downs I've read, genuinely made me laugh.

The proposal is a Skywars map that is made out of Parkour course. I proposed some specifics but these are a less important.

In general the main problem people pointed to was that the three ranged kits (archer, snow, eggs) would be overpowered. I suggested get ride of all kits for simplicity, Nico2017 said just those three kits. Either way it requires some coding I was sort of trying to avoid.

I think rubik_cube_man can handle the coding, the only thing is it would change the entire Skywars concept, the coding itself wouldn't be the problem

Based on what I've read, I may be incorrect, this wouldn't need to be recoded. New kits and maps would need to be implemented. And a new game type to house the result.

I'm not sure whether to support this, though.

I promise you, I was not implying that he could not practically. He made everything else so he certainly could.

I'm just aware that there are not enough devs to implement every suggestion on this board, so I was trying to make a "dev-free" suggestion. But it probably would require a bit of work so I would postpone the idea until the devs have time.

But its not unique enough to be a new game type itself because its just another Skywars map looking at it.

And I just meant that, IF there was any coding to do, Rubik could handle it, he's good enough
