In reply to your question - i don't play skyblock so i wouldn't know, sorry. I hope someone can help you out soon!

Depending on if you place any blocks in certain areas it might not be working (I did this myself). Try putting it in a flat area then see if spiders spawn, If they do then just it’s block placements, If not it’s a bug.
