Eggwars is the most popular game on the network,and there are a lot of plays it can be played so I’m gonna give you some ideas how to play it if you are new.
Solo Eggwars
You want to get the fastest game possible and to win most of the time,like me!To do that I’m playing on half health and op items(requires Gold rank to vote for both),so I’m choosing maps like Elven and Tentacles because they are just for 8 people and the games are fast if you rush your enem.
Second variant-You are not tryhard like me and you just play casual without doing anything for stats so I will suggest going to the middle,getting gear and making sure your egg is secured well.
Team Eggwars
Like the first way but choose the maps Orc,Rome and Mansion and get always in the team with ranked players because they are mostly good and you will get free easy win
Second way-You play on some not that good map so again,get some gear for you and your teemates before going anywhere
Tips-use your points to upgrade abilities
Don’t let someone farming kills on you,just leave if you care about k/d
Enjoy the game in your way!

I actually like to join the team against all tryhards in maps like Rome, Mansion and Orc. This makes the whole game more exciting for both teams and gives me some practise. Aside from that, I think everyone has his own playstyle, and his own win strategies. Yours could work too!
