Here are some n0ice tips for eggwars, which is a very popular game.
Tip#1:Shields; shield can not only block arrows but can block melee attacks also u don't get that much knockback blowing attacks and can be really helpful :)
Tip#2:Building to mid as fast as you possibly can get you the required diamonds and resources you need
Tip#3:encase yourself in sandstone when your facing a team at there base and need to break their egg
tip#4:crits, if you want to hit someone off and edge or deal a bit more damage jump and hit, you'll deal more damage, but you can be hit off easier
Tip5:Read those tips :) ^^^^^^^^^

1.It's better to strafe instead of blocking. When you block, you take damage, whereas strafing may make your opponent miss some hits. Missed hits = 0 damage.

Shields also have a hefty price tag of 30 diamonds in normal (10 in OP). Whether it's worth getting is up to you. Those 30 diamonds could've been used to buy a punch bow and a full set of iron (replace the iron helm with a chain one). Also, EMPs and mass fire can effectively disable your shields--scratch the EMPs (they're not part of this game). However, shields are good against campers who have infinite arrows (gold source) when crossing bridges.

2. Depends on the player. Some people prefer an all-in opening where they rush to enemy islands and then transition to chain/iron armor (depends on what others have acquired). All-in is best done on solo though. In teams, choose the "fast diamond" opening.
3. Also works in 1v1 where you wall off the path to their egg. Against teams though or players in a fight, NEVER encase yourself; it's a guaranteed death since they can land easy hits while you can't.
4. Even a regular hit will work. If they don't get knocked off, then you're better off landing an extra regular hit than a crit. Crits are very situational though; most of the time the return isn't worth the risk (enemy combos).

#1 right here

#2 I highly recommend enemy islands and then mid to ensure your egg doesn't get destroyed

#3 always have obby with you

#4 being in the air gives you more knockback
