Web Please increase the word limit of profile posts I want to write long speeches

The forums is a wonderful place to showcase your ideas and creativity through community posts. So, why can't profile posts be the same? Why are the profile posts limited to a mere 420 characters?

Good morning/afternoon/evening everyone! Today, a mint pie is going to talk on the serious issue of not being able to write speeches on profile posts.
Speeches are a crucial part of a human's life. Without speeches, a thing cannot be explained properly. (And I have a habit of writing long speeches)

So, imagine you are writing a profile post that has to be long. After spending your precious time on making that post perfect, you click post. The message should not be more than 420 characters. Why 420 characters. IT SHOULD ME LIKE 420 WORDS-
Then, you edited your truly perfect speech to the limit, but it seems quite incomplete. Then you use the replies to complete it, but guess what, NO ONE PAYS ATTENTION TO IT.

The profile posts should have more characters to work with. Even in hyperlinks like this, the number of characters of the link are counted (please correct me if I am wrong).

So, awesome solution, MAKE IT OF 2000 CHARACTERS. Okay, maybe 1000 is also fine. So make it to 1000 words. This way, profile posts will not be limited. And people can write speeches that actually make sense.
I don't think this will harm the forums in any way, and it will help many people who don't want to make threads and want to use their profiles to post something that has many characters.

You can always just reply to yourself with a second or even third part if it's getting too long, it is what people do on twitter and such. Profile posts are not intended to be that long, simply short status updates or messages. If you have something much more elaborate to say, consider a thread instead!

Would deffo be great! not that i can get it that far, but its would be a great change. (if they dont do it you can also just put a _ between the words

I agree with increasing the character limit for profile posts. It's so frustrating especially as someone who often provides news for all CubeCrafters in this website. I have to attach a screenshot of what I wanted to write as a workaround to that issue if I hit the character limit

That is true, but most of the people don't look at the replies given by the same person. And, it is a wastage of time just to rewrite everything in the replies.

If you have something much more elaborate to say, consider a thread instead!

But there are some things that can't be shared on a thread. And, if we look at it that way, most of the threads would be about things that are not related to the normal topics discussed now.

I don't think there is any harm in increasing the number of characters. It's going to help a lot of people in the forums.
The number that I mentioned isn't that big as compared to the limit set now. Just 2.38 times more than the current limit. So, you can consider that I am asking for almost the double of the limit that we have right now, which can be an extremely good change.

I agree, 1000 is a better number and most profile posts are rather informative.
