Obsidian Troll [Suggestion]

Hi There! So, there are many players on the map "teaparty" on EggWars trolling players, blocking entraces with obsidian​

Yeah, there is no way to escape
My suggestion making players cant place blocks there

It would be nice if they blocked that area to place blocks since my friends do the same things too, I agree with this

I understand that this may be frustrating however, there are players who would block off their enemies so that they can mine their eggs or for other strategic reasons. Instead of disallowing players to build there, I would suggest asking the builders such as @Efcluke94 if it's possible to add ladders to a second floor.
Second floor could be similar to "Mushroom - Eggwars" where they have a little open space as it would connect to the second floor so it's not totally out of place.

Well if it is a strategy for breaking another's egg I can understand that but than why not just allow players to place the obby around those areas on all islands except their own, or just make alternative ways out... there is the same problem with spawning in on the map minions but that isn't said as a strategy that was called out on exploiting since they can't leave

Even though it can be used for strategical reasons I still think this shouldn't be possible.
So I do agree with this, it should not be possible.

I don't know about this... I rarely spend enough time in the generator rooms to get locked in by another teammate, and I usually already buy a pickaxe as one of my first items.
I like to bring 3 pieces of obsidian each time I try to attack an island so I can block them in the generator rooms to avoid being 5v1'd. It's a strategical thing to do, and I don't want it to change much.

One issue that DOES exist however, is players standing on the blocks that trap you in the tower.
If it's your teammate, you cannot break that block no matter what you do as you can't "spleef" teammates. I've had this happen to me a few times (in moderation, friends did it as a joke) but I can't imagine what it'd be like if a random teammate did it to troll me.

I'm sorry @zRinne but that part I didn't get at all and still don't get exactly what you mean, in your example from what I do understand they could still cover it up until it is too many blocks at which point it negates the point of it as a strategy

I was suggesting that the generator area would include a second floor where you would have to climb up the ladders to. It would connect you to the second floor where your egg is similar to Mushrooms - eggwars, If you saw the image included (pardon the sandstone blocking some of the vision).

If you think players would also block that hole up, then the logic would apply to other maps as well such as huts where there is a generator inside the hut, players could also block that up and other maps that isn't mentioned.
Would you deny the rights to place blocks there just because some players think it's fun to troll their teammates?

I was suggesting that the generator area would include a second floor where you would have to climb up the ladders to. It would connect you to the second floor where your egg is similar to Mushrooms - eggwars, If you saw the image included (pardon the sandstone blocking some of the vision).

That's the problem this player has in the first place

It will always be possible to block your teammates somewhere with obsidian. Just imagine them blocking off the respawning area! It's impossible to prevent it from being possible.

Or just make the entrance dome shaped . That would mess with the aesthetics though. Maybe two trapdoors?

It's not about the price of being blocked off; It's about the blocking off itself.
As I said, no matter what you do, you can always trap teammates in obsidian. It'll always be an issue, so:

applies to everything.

So, we will still allow players to build on that 1 block width (2 in height) while suggesting to add ladders to a second floor, the entrance there would require more than 2 blocks (if you viewed the image in my first comment as a compassion) which I believe would be a better than disallowing players to build there.

I agree with adding a layer other than keeping that area block-free. It would be very hard for someone to get trapped in there, but people can still block the entrance to buy some time for breaking an egg. Just make sure there is not a ladder on the outside of the generator :P
