Web Notification for new thread

Time for another suggestion. Currently, the follow feature is kinda pointless. What I'd like to have is a notification when a person you follow creates a new thread.

Example:
You see the bell icon with a red 1. You click and see:

'A new thread by Ruisdier'

I'd love to hear your opinions on this.

Should be toggable tho.

Here, you can see comments of the users you follow, you can see the posts they like, and you can see if they have posted a thread! Howerver, it would be a nice feature.

Not at all, if you choose to follow someone then you are basically agreeing that you will get notifications
This is similair to suggesting you shouldn't see any Instagram posts and stories of someone you are following, which doesn't make too many sense

I don't remember myself agreeing to get actual alerts from someone's activity just by following them. Take Youtube for example - you subscribe to someone, but you don't receive notifications every time they post a video, unless you have hit the bell. It should definitely be toggable.

It definitely should not be toggleable, I didn't say you literally agree, you basically do because you chose who you follow
