i would like to say that the kits honestly felt stale for me, as a returning ffa player (more like a lurker lol). it's basically all diamond armor and diamond swords (and sometimes thrown potions). like, it just feels like it's all swords fights and almost never battling against a different kit. not to mention that the warrior and beast kits almost look entirely identical save for the enchant glints AND them having not much of a difference AT ALL, also players using the shop system can be very annoying to deal with knowing it would be usually either basing off from the wizard or stealth kits.

so i thought of a revamp to ALL of the kits with some initial balancing in mind. anything is open to some tweaks.

permanent kits:
- Warrior - Iron Armor with prot 1, Diamond chestplate with prot 3, Netherite sword with Sharpness 4
- Beast - Prot 3 Netherite Armor, unenchanted iron sword

the changes above are to actually differentiate between warrior and beast kits, as the way they are right now, looked not only identical but is pretty much the same in terms of combat data.


- Wizard - renamed as Alchemist for consistency, prot 2 iron chestplate, remain as-is

- Sniper - Camouflaging prot 3 leather armor (if it's possible, if not then the armor will remain as-is), remaining as-is but has 5 slow falling arrows
snipers will have slow falling arrows to counteract anyone with a mace, as slow falling nullifies the mace's fall damage bonus

- Samurai - armor as-is but with an Iron Helmet, and an Iron Leggings. iron sword with sharpness 1 but still will have the passive speed effect

- Berserker - unenchanted netherite chestplate, remain as-is

- Assassin - renamed as "Armorbuster", density 2-3 breach 2 mace, unenchanted stone sword, unenchanted iron chestplate, feather falling 4 iron boots, no leaping item but compensated with 4 starting wind charges but always regenerating up to 1 wind charge per 4 seconds when ran out of charges. but will guarantee an uncapped amount of wind charges per kill. is NOT immune to fall damage and cannot use /shop. also move into a permanent kit

this particular overhaul is made way for 1.21's addition of the mace, which would fit the assassin's role of ambush. this change is also designed to deal with players that use the /shop system making them nigh unkillable. the shop command would've been disabled for this kit or else the balance will be off the table, knowing the wind charge regeneration. they're given a stone sword as a sidearm when not smashing targets, albeit they're quite squishy.

featured kits:
- Blind Luck - renamed as "Survivor", randomized melee weapon, from a wooden sword to a mace. have a chance to spawn with a bow and some arrows. armor randomization remain as-is

- Stealth - renamed as "Spectre", iron sword with sharpness 3, invis crystal may help you fake your death, blindless potion also shared with the alchemist. gain speed 2 when under 6 health or 3 hearts

- Barbarian - Sharpness 5 golden axe, (all armor on prot 2) golden chestplate, chainmail leggings and leather boots

they feel identical to the berserker kit and quite rushed as a result. not to mention that its passive ability of haste on low health bled to ALL kits, rendering it not exclusive.


- Poseidon - Trident with loyalty 3, impaling 2 and channeling (1/4 chance of casting down lightning on successfully hitting a player when thrown instead of during a thunderstorm), armor as-is but has a passive speed 1 effect and haste 3 effect. BEDROCK POSEIDON REMAIN AS-IS

trident users are the perhaps the rarest in the scene, especially in java, knowing it's as slow as diamond and netherite axes, and 2 of its combat enchantments are only activated under certain circumstances. plus the way the poseidon kit rn is quite bad in java, hence the tweak above.


the shop system also needs a revamp, starting with the armor and weapons.
make diamond-tier equipment and the mace the most expensive on par with enchanted golden apples, and allowing more options of more equipment types in varied prices, as well as allowing players to buy potions, splash potions, lingering potions, fishing rods and tipped arrows.
again, everything in this thread is up to tweaks from y'all
