Hello Cubecrafters!
I’m reaching out today to discuss an issue that affects us all—an outdated reporting system that’s struggling to keep pace with the growing problem of hackers, unfair play, and inappropriate behavior across Cubecraft games.
Why This Matters:
We’ve all encountered hackers in games like Pillars of Fortune and Egg Wars, or inappropriate builds in the new Buy’n Build mode. These moments can ruin an otherwise casual gaming experience. One of the main reasons I joined the CC forums was to report hackers, but the current system isn’t working as well as it could. Let’s be honest—not everyone has Discord or a CC forums account, so we need a solution within the game itself.
The Proposal: An In-Game Reporting Revamp
I envision a game-changing upgrade to how CC can handle reports, something that makes it easier for players to protect our community. Here’s what this could look like:
1. Game Replay Viewer
Picture this: you can rewatch your recent games right within Cubecraft! The Hive introduced this feature, and it works brilliantly. Players could review their matches, clip epic moments, identify rule-breakers, and use these replays as concrete evidence in reports. To balance costs, replay access might follow a tiered system based on ranks or subscriptions:
This tool would be transformative for both players and moderators.
- Free: Access to your most recent game.
- Iron Rank (Java): 3 games.
- Diamond Rank (Java): 5 games.
- Obsidian Rank (Java or marketplace): Up to 10 games, with a retention period of 30 days for Marketplace.
2. A More Robust Reporting System
With game replays, reporting becomes seamless. Players could:
This added transparency could even strengthen the appeal process, as staff could provide video evidence when communicating decisions.
- View past player lists, profiles, and statistics
- Submit reports backed by replay clips for issues like teaming, inappropriate builds, cheating, or offensive chat messages.
- Allow Sentinel to analyze replays for cheating or pass ambiguous cases to staff (or players (See 3.)) for review.
3. Community-Powered Moderation
Drawing inspiration from Hypixel’s player-driven reviews, players who reach specific milestones (like ranks, games played, or levels) could review borderline reports flagged by Sentinel and Players.
Misuse of the system would result in suspension from reporting privileges.
- If 5 players vote "Yes, Cheating," the offender gets punished.
- If 5 vote "No, not Cheating," the report is dismissed, and the original reporter is warned or asked for stronger evidence.
Is This Far-Fetched?
Perhaps, but the time has come to take bold steps toward further protecting our community. With teamwork and creative problem-solving, CC can transform the reporting system into something that truly serves Cubecraft’s vibrant player base. While the process of developing and coding such a system might be lengthy and demanding, I still think it will be worth it.
What Do You Think?
TLDR: Game replay, allowing a more enhanced in-game reporting system.
Issue: Some kits in SkyWars feel overpowered while others are rarely used. For example, [Kit X] provides too strong an advantage at the start, making it difficult for others to compete.
Suggestion: Adjust certain kits to ensure fair play. For example:
Benefit: This change would create more diverse gameplay and make all kits viable options rather than just a few dominating the game.
- Nerf [overpowered kit] by reducing its starting gear or abilities.
- Buff underused kits to make them more viable choices.
Title: How to Improve Your Skills in CubeCraft and Outsmart Other Players
Content:
Hey everyone,
If you want to become a better player in CubeCraft, here are some tips and essential skills you should master to level up and win more games:
1. Learn the maps and resource spots
Know where to find gear, weapons, and resources in each game. This gives you a big advantage to gather quickly and be ready for fights.
2. Practice key movement and combat skills:
Jump: Master your jumping to dodge attacks and move quickly around the map.
Reset: Quickly reposition or reset your movement in tough situations to avoid damage or regain control.
Double Crit: Learn how to land two critical hits in a row to maximize damage on your opponent.
Hit Select: Choose the right target and focus on the weakest or most dangerous enemy during fights.
3. Watch tutorial videos
Follow CubeCraft pros on YouTube or Twitch and learn their moves and techniques.
4. Play with friends or a team
Playing with people you know helps you learn new strategies and improve communication.
5. Stay updated with server news
Keep track of CubeCraft updates so you know about any changes or new features.
Practicing these skills regularly will make you a stronger player with faster reactions. Be patient and consistent!
In Battle Arena Duels (1v1/2v2), ranked players currently have the ability to select kits, which gives them a significant and consistent advantage over unranked players who are forced into random kits.
This creates an unfair PvP environment where players who pay for a rank can master a specific kit, while others are constantly adapting — making what should be a skill-based mode feel pay-to-win.
Why This Is a Problem:
- Competitive modes should be based on player skill, not kit familiarity through paid perks.
- Many players lose motivation to play Duels knowing they are at a systemic disadvantage.
- It hurts long-term game balance and player trust, especially for new or F2P players.
Suggested Fixes:
- Remove kit selecting from Duels entirely, or…
- Make it unlockable via playtime, win streaks, or in-game achievements — giving all players a path to earn the option.
This would help maintain fairness, encourage more participation, and keep Duels truly competitive.
Thanks for considering this!
Oh My Gaah!! I would totally lose it if Hive and CubeCraft merged! They're both amazing servers. Hive is great at the behind-the-scenes stuff like making sure everything runs smooth, maintenance, has good replays, low ping and immediate support and assistance. And CubeCraft is awesome for the cool Marketplace stuff, smooth AS, EU and NA server merges without being disconnect and all the fun mini-games. That would make me SO happy!
The current system is that the Sentinel system publicly announcing bans.. which labels the banned user as a cheater. These notifications are displayed in the server, including in lobbies and various other areas, which can be damaging to the users reputation and create a negative environment. To avoid these issues and improve fairness for all players, I strongly suggest implementing a change to the ban system.
Specifically, I propose disabling the public Sentinel announcements and instead implementing a system for secret bans. This modification would greatly assist those who have been wrongly banned, particularly those who may be facing false accusations while playing with friends, ensuring a more equitable and pleasant experience for everyone on the CubeCraft servers. :)
The current AFK timer doesn't fit the nature of Free-For-All gameplay. Standing still briefly is common—whether you're watching an area, waiting for a fight, swapping gear, or simply not mid-combat. Forcing players to move constantly disrupts the flow, especially for ranked players holding strategic spawn points.
Many players are recording, streaming, or even in voice calls. Being kicked to the lobby just for pausing a few seconds—even when you're actively present—is frustrating and unnecessary.
Simple ask: Either remove the AFK timer in FFA or increase the threshold to at least 4-5 minutes. The current setup hurts gameplay more than it helps.
Aside from the obvious ethical and climate-related issues I have with unnecessary AI-use, I think excessive use of AI in this way should fall under the like farming rule. This section, before the rules were shortened used to include:
Having AI generate entire threads for you requires absolutely no effort. There is also no point to it, except gathering likes from some people who will inevitably not notice you didn't lift a finger. I feel like this fits perfectly in this rule, and excessive AI use (at the moderation team's discretion) should be made punishable under this.Do not farm forum messages with the only objective of increasing your forums stats.
Thank you for reading and have a nice day.
