So I spent 30 minutes on this thread and accidentally deleted it so time to restart. I have some Beta Eggwars Suggestions so please read the whole thing, it's kind of long but it's worth it.
The other day I was playing Eggwars with someone and we were a 2 in a game of 4's so right off the bat, we weren't in the best spot. I got obsidian because I knew it would be a rough game. We got killed, then blocked off into spawn and could not leave or do anything. My kit gives me TNT and a gold pickaxe but was useless with the cooldown. We got spawn kill farmed for a bit before they finally broke our egg. So I have some suggestions that could make this harder to do, and fairer for the victim:
When playing Eggwars it's common for someone to waltz to your egg without you ever knowing until it's gone. What I'm proposing are traps. Traps could be bought with diamonds or maybe emeralds. A trap could either have a function like potion effects or just alert you someone is at your island, either would work. Since emeralds have been added, there needs to be a way to combat the advantage they give someone. Overall, there needs to be a better defense against people using new emerald items, because there hasn't been a need in the past.
To conclude, I would just like to ask everyone to vote in the poll (Multiple Votes) and explain why in a reply. Some of these exist on other servers, but not every idea needs to be completely unique and I think this would improve gameplay. This is just a beta, so I think a little experimenting never hurt anyone. I hope to maybe see these changes one day and I hope everyone has a good day!

Yes you spawn with a wooden sword every time. However, since people have kits, they don't like this idea. So, if you have no kit or your kit is on cooldown, you get a wooden sword. This gives players a fighting chance when they spawn.
To the people who don't like the spawning with a sword for free I have another solution. You can buy a sword that you'll always spawn with, in addition to your kit. I know you can just buy a chest and put a sword in, but this doesn't always work. Your teammate can take it, another team can steal it, and if you're trapped you can't reach it. I don't have a good price estimate, but maybe 40 iron for wood and like 100 for stone? I don't know, Cubecraft would have to experiment with that.
