Cannot accept or create party invites

I entered the server and tried to chat to say hi and I got a message saying it was loading my data, when that was done my friend sent me a party invite but I was not able to accept it because I didn't have the permission. I can chat in the server now but still can't accept party invites. if you can help that would be great.

Have you tried re-logging or restarting your Minecraft over all? Would try that first. Good luck! :)
