I played a lot of Tower defense and was actually incredibly good. I have 500+ wins and have since stopped playing due to other players. I realize that most players just starting off don't know what towers to place or how to do so. I felt that there was no basic tips, existing guides are too in detail for new players and confuse them. The basic things you need to know are the following. Only one mage is needed every 20 blocks or so. Once the mob is set on fire it can't be anymore on fire then it already is. Ice also has the same rule, the mob can't be any slower then it is already. It has the same effect with one tower as it does with 15. Poison also abides by that rule, one every 20 or so blocks. So to recap, only place one mage, ice, and poison every 20 blocks. (20 is a rough estimate) There is a lot more to know when playing, but that is a basic rule. If you do play Tower Defense I highly recommend you keep chat on. It is a fast, team based game and communication is key. If you see someone in game "mage stacking" try to teach them otherwise, before resorting to vote kick. I will translate this below into Dutch and Spanish, to avoid having a language barrier. Because often that is what causes problems. Have fun and good luck.

Unfortunately, I don't think any of the people who made/ice stack are on the forums. :/
But I think this would be great to have at the start of the game. Like if they had the title command say "Please do not make/ice/poison stack. It is useless" so everyone will know.

Ya! I'm just hoping this will be helpful to people who are going for Egg Wars to Tower Defense, but I completely understand what you mean!

I
There's already a basic guide that talks about stacking here: https://www.cubecraft.net/threads/tower-defence-tower-information.96571/
It's literally pinned at the top of this section of the forums. My question is how did you miss it? If players don't read something posted by staff then why would they bother reading this thread either? As TheBrownster904 has just added most players that stack don't read the forums anyways.
see what you mean and yes, there is a staff made guide already. I just made this not to say their's isn't good or doesn't help. But to help anyone who needs it. The staff here is great! It's really good that they made a guide! I'm just trying to help, the game is fun what everyone plays correctly and if they see a statement several times they are more likely to believe it. Most people the stack mage are from others games on Cubecraft and simply don't know!

Is it just me or are there no games where players don't mage stack? I think of my matches tonight and yesterday there were ABSOLUTELY none. Worse yet there's a votekick system that requires everyone's vote. You can have a good four players with communication but a player that doesn't reply and a player that stacks just kills the game. Talk about a combo. I'm not about to try to report every player that stacks as it would be RIDICULOUS. I would end up being the most hated hall monitor on all of Cubecraft.

You're not alone. Out of the 100+ or so games I've played (with randoms), only 1 or 2 have games where my teammates are smart enough not to mage stack. Another 1-2 games will have stackers but will remove their stacked mages when reminded to. Reminding them will not likely get them to stop since they don't trust others and they think stacking "helps." All other games I've played had uncooperative stackers. Your only chance to find a game without any mage stacking at all is to join an organized team.

Agreed on votekicking. I'd say make the votekick easier by having a supermajority vote (2/3 at least).

An organized team? Seriously you made me laugh on that one. I've just posted on another thread talking about this matter as well. Playing this competitively is a joke. With stackers this common I'd be surprised to see even a small group play this together but let's not forget the no party system! I'd like to see real matches. Matches where teams are neck and neck and only the better of the two make it. Now that's gaming. Organized teams though that one was funny. You sure know how to give a good time. xD

I actually have a replay of 2 organized teams playing against each other in TD on this server. I'll share it later though.

First, you need at least 1 friend who knows not to make the most common mistakes (e.g. mage stacking, out of grid placement, buying sword/bow) and knows how to play. You don't need much for a 2-man team. The game is best played at early morning server time (so about 5-8AM GMT) if you don't want to play with too many random players.

Most difficult is getting the right lobby. So if it's just you and your friend, you may have to keep trying until you get a game with just you 2 against 2-3 randoms. The game will be tougher than usual but if you both can handle it, you'll have a fun time than you will in usual games.

As for the bigger team: you will have to keep looking as much as possible. Look for good players (observe what they do in-game).

EDIT: Here's the replay showing a 6v6 (I'm in red). 2 organized teams play against each other:

That was a great match. Hypixel's SkyClash Leaderboard players came and challenged us. We had 3 matches with them and each one was fantastic. We won each one of the matches 200 to 0 at the end, but their offense was truly spectacular. I've seen around 100 some blazes sent in 3 different matches now and one of them was against them.
