The i 5 should run fine the hyper threading is for large amounts of incoming data and since it has a lesser chance of not working on your current motherboard it would work fine and if it on the unlikely chance doesn't work it won't mean u wasted 400$ XD i7's be expensive

Honestly i dislike 1.8 PvP also I have done the math since a sword does 11.2 dps and the axe does 9 dps swords are better in the long run. but it still comes down to skill and opinion
