For my geography is easier and more entertaining. History is much more complicated and you have to study a lot more.
You should choose what you like the most and what seems simple to you

thank u i was always stuck on what to choose because geography was too easy and all the teachers sucked but i got told it would help u with your statistical and economical knowledge and history everybody else picked it but all the teachers were really nice and i got told that it would help you with your english analysis skills

For me neither geography nor history is simple
Both of them are bad
and I always get full marks in these exams for some reason :D

History is really interesting and useful

There are definitely subjects in school that people think aren't good and they wont be interesting that actually turn out to be very relevant for the things their interested in. For example history is great if you enjoy politics or journalism, just like geography is great for science and politics as well.

Both would have sections focussed on social issues its just if you wanna go more sciencey or you wanna go more into what has happened in the past. So depends if your a science person or more of a not-sciency person . I find people who are good at English are very good at history as our own education system in Ireland has history as an essay writing subject.

in the uk we write essays for english and history so thats really relieving to find out cos my english teacher thinks im on par with a top set year 11’s gcse cos we do analysing shakespeare like romeo and juliet so i think i might do okay in history but i’ll just have to wait and see what happens to me cos i felt smarter in year 6 somehow

I like History a bit more than Geography. I find History fascinating to learn about the past, but yes, you do write a lot of essays! I'm around the same year as you, and I'm UK as well, so we would have the same curriculum.

My History teacher says I'm one of the best in my class. If they say it, I would believe it. I doubt you suck at it, you seem pretty intelligent to me! You could ask friends/classmates what your teacher says to them to see if she's just being polite or whatever.

Obviously, it's completely my opinion so just use my thoughts as a recommendation, don't necessarily follow it from just what I say. And, most importantly, go with what you find more interesting and fun!
